Worked great in icy conditions
I bought these to wear on a trip to Alaska. I was there in early spring when snow thaws during the day, creating slush, and may freeze again at night. There was a lot of ice on the ground when we returned late at night and early morning, and I was really pleased with the extra traction the yaktraks provided.Pros: They're lightweight, easy to pack, and function well. I thought I would be aware of them when I was walking, but I really wasn't.Cons: They're kind of a pain to put on. They damage flooring and should not be worn indoors. In fact, many establishments have signs posted asking that any type of cleats be removed from shoes before entering the building. It's one thing if you are in the entryway of a building where you can sit on a step to accomplish the task. It's not fun if you're in a vehicle and need to put them on before getting out.The little spikes on the bottom of the Yaktrax tended to catch on things, and it was a rental car, so we were extra careful and removed them while inside the vehicle.

Save your neck! ( back, head, hip!)
As a climate refugee, moved to the north woods of Wisconsin from the hellish heat of the south, I had to adapt to ice and snow and subzero temps. Pretty much got it figured out but slipping and falling on the ice was not in my plan! Learned about Yaktrax from the locals and started with the originals for the first few years ( the kind with the coiled springs) and they were OK. On super cold days, they still slid on supercold ice, they just couldn't grip. This is my second pair of Yaktrax but first with spikes and I wish I'd just done these the first time! They did a fantastic job of gripping snow covered ice on a 4 degree day when yesterday I was still sliding with the old pair. I would honestly say just start with these. Easyish to put on and take off. I feel safe when walking on ice with them, unlike with the others. And an incredibly good price!

Worked well in mid Atlantic ice/snow
Helped me keep my footing when shoveling heavy mid Atlantic ice/snow this winter. Seem durable. They are fairly easy on/off - I sit down and do it with my shoe on my foot.

Finally can walk my dog!
I live in New England where we had snow and then freezing rain days later so the snow is frozen solid and really slippery. All pavement has salt on it which hurts dogs paws and grass areas are frozen and slippery. I haven’t been able to take my dog for a walk until I got these. Amazing! Did not slip once.

Great for the ice

Too hard to put on
These work ok, but they are so darn much work to get onto the shoe that I rarely use them, even when I probably should, so it kind of defeats the purpose.

Great Grippers for Ice!
These are great for the ice and crusty snow. I like that they are not heavy like the grippers with spikes but work very well. I also like that they have Velcro to keep them in better! Bought a second pair exactly the same for another family member.

Awesome! Game changer on icy walks!
These are a lifesaver for working outside in icy conditions. They’re a little tricky to get to stay on muck boots because the muck boots have a molded footbed vs an actual attached sole, but they allow me to get my outdoor chores done safely and without fear of a nasty slip and fall. I’m ordering another pair to have on hand. Highly recommended!!
