Good entertaining book
Vendetta by Autumn Karr & Sienna LaneDevon Andre and Leighton Moore both come from Mob families, but rival families. This is the only life they have known, survive or perish. When Leighton is caught snooping on a deal she is kidnapped by Devon. Devon’s family puts him in charge of her, and ending her. But that isn’t the end of their story. This had a great deal of drama and suspense, but this was a slow start for me, most of the first half of the book is based on Leighton being captive in one room. However, just a little past the halfway mark this really began to build and then there is a twist. The twist isn’t what I expected and while it was a good one, I was left confused, I had to go back a page or two to make sure I hadn’t missed something. Had that piece been presented earlier in the book, I feel like I would have been more in tune to what was going on. From that point on I was really pulled to the story. Here is what really got me hooked, the drama and suspense, and crime of the story really worked for me once it started to build and some super hot scenes. I really appreciated the standalone aspect, in that there wasn’t a brutal cliffhanger, I couldn’t have taken that. The ending could end there, or there could be another spin on the story if desired. Finally, here is what didn’t work for me. I wish there was more of an emotional background with the main characters; I could have connected with them more if I had that. Like I said prior, I really appreciated the twist in the story, but the way it was thrown in there was a bit confusing.I would recommend this to anyone looking for a semi dark romance story, with some drama, and crime, but this is recommended for 18 and over only. It was a good story and I enjoyed the read, I just wished the layout of the timeline was altered slightly. I see a lot of promise coming from both authors, and I am curious to read more of their work.

Vendetta is an easy quick read; a modern day organized crime version of the Romeo and Juliet theme.I like the "forbidden lovers" trope; but I really didn't feel any great connection between Devon and Leighton.SPOILER: When the story opened they already had a history with each other and deep feelings had developed. I get the "lust at first sight" and adolescent crush concept; but how that had supposedly turned into love when they'd barely spoken 2 words to each other was a little befuddling. END SPOILER.I did like both lead characters. Leighton was a fairly strong heroine who made a respectable effort to save herself instead of sitting around waiting for the cavalry to come and Devon was a decent guy (for a drug running Mafioso). The twists and turns, and the who's stabbing who in the back in the organized crime world was more prevalent towards the second half of the book and was fairly interesting. So all in all, for me: entertaining but nothing to write home about.

Classic plot line but worth the read for sure!
Oh my goodness!!! Loved this story even though its a modern day mafia style Romeo and Juliet. No cliffhanger but I would LOVE another book to continue Devon and Leighton’s story! There was a big twist I didn’t see coming! I had to run upstairs (away from the kiddos) to read that section I was so gripped I couldn't handle any interruptions!!!Love that the story is presented with a duel point of view so we as readers got to experience both perspectives. Only a grammar error or two, so nothing to distracting from the story. Loved the tender passion between Devon and Leighton! A few good bedroom scenes, that fit well into the story adding to it and not cheapening the content or story.I give Vendetta 5 stars even though its a classic plot line I loved reading it!Review posted on bookaddict29.tumblr.com

Vendetta was not at all what I was expecting! The beginning grabbed me and than at about 25% I was saying to myself get to the f'n point and then it does and you are taking on a completely drama filled suspense ride of "clue." Every time you think you know what is going on you realize you don't.I didn't fall in love with Devon or Leighton so much, because it felt as if the story wasn't written to rally towards their happy ending. But you like them and want to see where their story goes, there wasn't an abundant of sex in the story but the few scenes that are in the story are hot.I really enjoyed this story, it is the kind of book that now that you understand exactly what's going on you want to pick it up and read it again! I hope to read more from Autumn and Sienna!!

This book was basically about two people (Devon and Leighton) who have been drawn to each other their whole lives, but couldn't be together because they're from mob families that hate each other. When Leighton is in the wrong place at the wrong time, she gets knocked out by someone she thought her family could trust. Devon saves her, but basically kidnaps her. There are a lot of strong feelings between these two, but there's more reason to fight the attraction. Devon is after the killer of his parents and brother and is told that Leighton's dad is the one who ordered the hit.I liked the book overall. It didn't flow smoothly sometimes and left me a little confused. Then there's this part mid-book that I thought the characters had somehow been switched around. I was reading Leighton's POV, then thought it was Hayley, then had to read it several times to figure out it was actually Leighton, but it was a WTH kind of moment. This "conversation" gives us a little background that I think would have helped readers early on. You get more background information towards the end, that again I had to re-read a couple of times to understand concerning the history of the families.Good for a first book I thought. I liked Devon's character a lot. He's can be the bad mob killer, but he actually has a softer side and you can tell he truly cares for Leighton and doesn't want to hurt her. I liked Leighton well enough. Would have liked a little more pages in the Epilogue.

Fantastic
I loved this book - characters were well developed and the sexual chemistry was brilliant. Only thing I didnt like was how it was suddenly written in that they knew each other. But didnt stop me enjoying it and there are so many twists and turns that I was flipping those pages!
