As we all know, strokes are a terrible thing to happen to anyone. So many things are taken from the people we love but a phone like this gives some of that control back. This phone is perfect for allowing our family member to simply push a button to make a call. Prior to this phone it was impossible!Programming it was a snap. The features it provides are fantastic and the sound level is perfect. Strongly recommend for anyone what wants to give a little life control back to someone that may need it

This phone was exactly what we needed for my grandma in the nursing home. She struggled with having to dial a 9 first, but you can program that in.And for those (like me) who don't want your family calling 911 accidentally, that button is also programmable- I changed it to the nurse station extension.It was loud and clear and very easy to set up. Highly recommend.

it does take more space than she was used to, the cord is decent length however mom just uses the speaker instead as the phone sits on the end table next to her chair. I didn't put pictures in the holders as they would of need to be really small, instead I wrote our names out on a slip of paper and put those in holders instead, works well for mom.The ringer is super loud, so I adjusted that. the answering machine works great also helps to slow sales calls as mom now screens the calls. Yes, you can pickup while a message is being recorded.Would buy again

I had previously posted "The speaker died after 8 months - rendered the phone useless as my wife needs the speaker - otherwise worked as advertised"Well it turns out that was not true - what happened was the phone had gotten disconnected from the power source (plugged in but not making contact) Turns out everything is OK. Changed my rating from 3 star to five star - thank You VTech

I tried 3 different phones for my 95 year old mom. We needed it to ring loud, help her to dial numbers and be easy to hang up. Our phone service is through our cable company. All of the phones we tried were not loud enough or wouldn't let me save the numbers for 1 touch dialing because our phone service went through a modem. This one was the only one that actually worked! It was loud enough for her to hear, it let me easily program the numbers for her to call with 1 touch and she is able to hang it up to disconnect! I am so happy she will be able to use this phone to give her access to her family! The only thing I wish would be more 1 touch buttons so I could add a couple of her friends.
