Believe me when I say this - the Panasonic DP-UB150 is THE very best affordable 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player on the market. This was the first player I bought for 4K viewing, and can confirm that is by far the best. Playback is both solid and reliable, so you can purchase with confidence. The player is nice and compact too. Remote is also of good size and quality, and always responsive. Playability is phenomenal. The picture & sound quality are second to none. Really quite impressive. I've tried and tested the model which come along after this one, and it wasn't a patch on the DP-UB150. Oh, and Panasonic 4K players beat Sony's efforts, hands down (my Sony 4K player barely lasted a month before it packed up working!). In the past I have always gone for middle of the range blu ray/ 4k players players thinking they were a good mix of picture quality and price. My aging Arcam CD player had just given up the ghost so after some research I wanted to see if I combine the two players. I prized my wallet open with a lot of sweating and hit the buy now button. From the outset I was not disappointed, unpacking it you could see and feel the quality, after an easy setup I placed a 4k lord of the rings in, the colours popped out of the screen hues were rendered perfectly, with even the fastest scenes tracking without issue and smoothly. When it came to dark scenes it pulled out so much information while still keeping the scenes inky black. Only one slight negative if you can call it that, is the menus are slightly slower than anticipated. Putting a CD in I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and depth of the sound stage. A worthy buy and I am happy I took the plunge. Needs decent equipment to bring out its fullest potential.

Within an hour of getting this player up and running I had launched Netflix, by accident, about 50 times. The netflix button is directly above the up button on the direction control. If you have finger nails longer than 0.5mm, it is very difficult not to push it when pressing up. I was ready to box it up and send it right back but decided to see if any after market remotes were available. There were, so I decided to spend an extra tenner to get a usable remote. It arrived next day and is just the job. It has a backlight too. The player itself is fantastic. I was using an Xbox One X as my 4k player but compatibility issues were popping up with certain discs so decided to splurge on a dedicated player. The interface is a bit archaic but it's virtually silent and a loads up discs much quicker. The picture quality from it on my LG C2 OLED is stunning. It blows the Xbox into the weeds. I would give it 5 stars but for the stupid remote.

Just taken delivery, easy to follow on screen quick set up. Good quality machine and remote control, excellent picture and sound without having to change anything in different menus. Scans and recognises your TV and even a different brand of TV remote control then can control the player.

Excellent player, easy to set up and useful USB support for movie playback. 4k visuals look great. Remote quality questionable and when I first set it up the tray was opening and closing and wouldn’t respond (remote buttons can get stuck down!!) Easy to plug in and get going and easy to use , great value and better than having to remove discs from my Ps5!

I bought this primarily because I wanted Dolby Vision which my old Panasonic blu-ray player didn't support. It was basically plug-and-play (including not having to reprogramme my universal remote control). Picture quality is much improved and the HDR optimizer works well on HDR10 blu-rays like Apollo 13. It does take a little while to get all the settings dialled in as there are so many more tweaks that you can do on this player. For some reason I had to delay audio by 30ms with my particular setup to get lip sync right; no idea why. {Update] Really impressed with this player having watched a lot of different material. HDR and overall picture quality is way better than anything that I have seen before and sound quality over HDMI is excellent. I can rate it highly. I have an eight year-old LG OLED TV that really benefits from the HDR processing in this player.

While I was researching for the most capable (and affordable) Blu-Ray player that would enhance the performance of my LaserTV Projector and ALR screen, the Panasonic DP-UB20EB was the obvious choice. Its 4K high-precision Chroma Processor produces outstanding colours, bringing natural images to the screen. The images are vibrant with exceptional detail, creating a visually immersive experience! I was pleasantly surprised at the rich quality produced by the automatic upscaling of Blu-Ray (HD) content. Even some basic DVD discs resembled high-definition. The player made my projector’s Dolby Atmos sound richer and more captivating than ever before! I was particularly excited about the bass as it is now much clearer and well-defined. Furthermore, the ‘Dialog Enhancer’ feature makes it easier to hear speech without needing to raise the volume too high. Though the player’s Remote Control works well, I replaced it with the Panasonic DP-UB9000 Remote Control (bought separately) as I preferred its layout and it has a backlight for use in a dark room. Admittedly, the Panasonic DP-UB20EB is a considered purchase, if you are on a budget. But after assessing its overall amazing picture and sound quality, upscaling capabilities, HDR processing, and its smooth, uninterrupted playback, I can only conclude that this award-winning product delivers as promised. This beast offers sensational performance and I can confidently recommend it.

This is the only player which supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HDR 10 and gets all of them right. The player is well built although the use of metal like in its big brother UB9000 would have made it more desirable. Using it with LG GX OLED and absolutely happy with the same. The player should come with high speed HDMI cable supporting HDMI2.1 but i would not hold this against it.

I like it all over. High quality sound and image (love the Dolby Video feature).

the player is awesome, it has everything you may need to have some quality reproduction of your blue rays but the interface is slow and cumbersome. I personally dont use it for media apps like netflix etc as i have a separate player(nvidia shield) but be aware if you buy and you have such needs. Unfortunately mine come with 1.70 firmware so i couldnt apply the multiregion mod as it's for 1.69 but a hardware mode is available as well in internet if you sre interested on multiregion blue rays and dvds. 4k are region free so no problem.
