Brought an old frig back to life
I have a Kenmore model 72102100 frig (2001 vintage) that had a broken defrost timer. This resulted with the items in the freezer being coated with frost or ice, and items in the lower frig section getting too warm. The timer was a perfect fit for my model, and was easy to replace. Now the freezer and frig both are working as designed.

Great part. Minor modifications may be needed.
Perfect replacement for the failed part. The only nick to the review is the mounting screw holes are a tad too small. It’s easy enough to fix with a drill. The fridge is no longer running 24/7

Works, no instructions but fixed defective one in old Whirlpool Fridge
Have an old Whirlpool ET18JMXMWR1 in the garage (top freezer bottom fridge). Freezer was cold but fridge ran warm. After some research and youtube videos figured out it was the defrost timer. Looked up part online, saw this was the new replacement. Ordered part, installed part. The old one had two green wires coming from a tab next to the motor winding. Just connected the new black wire tab to that one, some electrical tape and it's working. Just be sure to look at your existing wiring config and see where it needs to hook up as there were no instructions with this model. It does work!

Works on Maytag Upright Freezer Model No MQF1656TEW02
I purchased this part because it was one-fourth the price of the OEM replacement. The reviews were encouraging, although I realized there were some annoyances. I received it quickly - around 5 days. Annoyance #1 - No user manual whatsoever. Nothing in the package, nothing online, zip. You're on your own. LOL. It wouldn't be a big deal except that there's this little black wire that has to be connected to one of the prongs. I did my own research and found it needs to go on the prong labeled '1'. Annoyance #2 - The little black wire is difficult to fit over the prong. I had to use a flathead screwdriver to press it down hard enough. Annoyance #3 - The screwholes on this part are larger diameter than OEM so I had to go scrounge slightly larger metal screws to tighten it in. Annoyance #4 (big one) - With the little black wire attached to prong 1 and the unit screwed into the back of the freezer, the little black wire made contact with the chassis. When I plugged in the freezer, it instantly shorted out and blew the fuse. Design flaw. So I wrapped some electrical tape around the metal lead and bent it so it doesn't make metal-to-metal contact. The part has been installed for 2 days now and the freezer is working normally. The defrost timer is engaging as it should and the internal temperature is -5 F. Awesome. So this little part is a great value over the OEM part, but you have to deal with the annoyances of a Chinese-made part. If you're a do-it-yourselfer with average mechanical aptitude, you should have no problems.

Pin location
This defrost timer has my 41 year old Whirlpool defrosting again. Important note: I did confirm that pin #1 was the hot by taking an AC vote reading of 120 volts AC at the plug. I first put the black wire coming from the defrost timer on pin #1, but the defrost timer motor was not running. I then tested the AC voltage between 2 & 3 (the neutral) while the fridge compressor fan was running. I had 120v AC at the pin #2 while the compressor and fan was on. I unplugged the refrigerator and moved the black wire that moves the defrost timer motor to pin #2 location and presto after bringing power back to the refrigerator I could see the motor was indeed running. I would not do this without a meter. Good luck!

Lasted one month, NOT durable
I received the Bluestars Ultra durable refrigerator defrost timer on 22 November; on 24 December I noticed that the refrigerator was no longer defrosting automatically and manually set it to defrost and ordered a replacement. Prior to installing I marked the manual rotating shaft to see if the timer was running without removing the module. After removing the module, the motor resistance was 8.3K ohms and connecting it to 120VAC 60Hz it drew 13mA at 1.74 watts. But I could see the motor wasn’t turning through the clear plastic housing. Thumping it with my finger wouldn’t get it to run, but a sharp rap with the handle of a screwdriver started it running. It then ran for about 5 minutes and stopped. I am returning this timer as defective and replacing it with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DW8SFKZ which seems to be slightly better quality.
