Q: Is there any way to verify the lot numbers of the reagents prior to purchase?

My company, Recreation Supply, offers a freshness guarantee on all reagents we sell on Amazon.com. The guarantee is specified in the condition note of reagent offers to which it applies. Since reagents vary in chemical makeup, the amount of guaranteed shelf life varies by reagent. Obviously, since manufacturers sell through distribution, a portion of that shelf life will be spent while the reagents are in transit or in a warehouse waiting to be ordered. We limit that lost shelf life by ordering stock of test kits and reagents frequently and in small batches.

Q: Can you provide lot #, etc. from each bottle before i order? Some are only good 6 months or 1 year. Returning recent purchase b/c some soon expire

It's not fair to judge Amazon and Amazon's third party merchants on this experience. Different reagents have different shelf lives. The Calcium Hardness 2 reagent, for instance, only has a 6 month shelf life from date of manufacture. No matter where you purchase the reagents from, you will not get any more shelf life than this.

Q: what are the dates on these reagents

I received an order today 5/1/20. They are dated as follows: DPD1A 4/22, 1B 4/22, 3 4/22. PH 4/22. ALK 4/21. CH1 4/21, CH2 9/20. CA tabs 2/23.

Q: Do the reagents work in the 2086 kit with the larger tubes. I know the tubes don't work but what about the reagents?

Hello, Not all of the R-2056 reagents can be used with the 2086 ColorQ 2X PRO 7 tester. R-2056 comes with liquids for TA and calcium hardness and they cannot be used with the 2086 model. All of the new 2x models use a tablet to test for TA and calcium hardness, in order to provide better shelf life. You need to order replacement kit R-2086. I hope this is helpful. Best regards, Alan
