Good quality. Well made very durable. Not too heavy highly recommended
This was very nice. I did return it because I just decided I didn't need it. But it was very nice, it was very sharp. It was very good quality and seem to be extremely well. Made very durable, and it was weighted, perfect. Just a little more than I expected, as far as size. So I returned it like I said It does give you date good, quick speed movement. Because it is not too heavy and it was a good deal for the money as well. So it's good quality. I just didn't want it. It was too much for what I needed. It for but it was a good deal

Warning ⚠️ Extremely sharp!
This is a baby katana! More than razor sharp, this is surgical sharp. Real nice size for an excellent fighting or slashing weapon. It's about as thick as a silver dollar and feels really good in hand. I haven't used it but I garentee it will stand up to all the rigorous things your using your bushcraft knife for like chopping and batoning . I'm saving this knife in shtf bag mainly for skinning and preparing game but also would be nice in event someone needs surgery. This thing rocks and is extremely durable and it's got thick black paint to stop it from rusting or wearing down. I now own the cold steel kobun and this RSK and both I can't say anything bad about, there built to last and extremely sharp. The checkered rubberized black handle makes these very easy to use and deploy with excellent grip and I'm definitely buying another just for my car. The recon tanto is so much better than the kobun but both are very nice to have. I like the black paint because it won't create a glare in sunlight or other light. I'm thinking about blueing the kobun so it's not so shiny. This recon tanto is thicker than any knife I own except my bush knife/ machete and it's built to last forever, I'm not telling you to use it as a prybar or screwdriver but for regular use you shouldn't ever need another. The tool steel it's made of should retain an edge for quite some time and take edge easily when it's time to sharpen. I'm a huge fan of cold steel and I only have bought 2 of their knives and I'm planning on buying the $600 cpm3v kukri because it's talking to me bad and will replace your machete and hatchet. I'll definitely 100% recommend the recon tanto and the smaller kobun. By far the sharpest knives iv ever saw and I'm 39 years old, iv saw my fair share of knives. The recon tanto has a really nice 7 inch blade and very nice sheath and handle. The sheath is of incredible quality and will last the life of the knife unlike leather sheaths that don't last a decade or so in heavy use. I'm a very happy customer 😀 with my cold steel recon tanto and kobun. Just received my 2nd one and its just as good as the other. This is the best survival knife on earth in my opinion.

Hard to pass up for $30....?
I received my SK-5 today. It had been on my I want that list for awhile but I believe it was included in a lighting deal yesterday. Well before I got the chance to place my order the it was back at its Amazon's regular price. After discounts and rewards cash I still payed less than $10 for it 👍 I don't know about everyone else but I'm always skeptical about buying Products from Cold Steel due to the amount of counterfeit items out there. Cold Steel could easily resolve the issue simply by including QR code that can be verified at their web site. I suppose that that's too difficult for them or they just don't care maybe they sell their second quality items to distributors that then enter them into the normal supply channels. Some people might say that couldn't happen on Amazon and I cannot say with 100% certainty that it does although I'm certain of it. If counterfeit pharmaceutical medications can enter the supply chain anything can! Ok so the Pros: Solid knife I like the hollow ground tanto blade Seems to be solidly built It came sharp could be sharper The Cons Handle is to short and boxy for even medium sized hands Knife is extremely front heavy Finger guard and the shape of the rear of the grip make it very difficult to change your grip The grind is uneven The sheath is junk It feels like the grip would slip if it were covered in oil or similar fluid maybe that's why it has a plastic finger guard. Will it cut absolutely would it be my first choice to pack Not even my second. If the handle was modified perhaps it would be easier to confidently change grip quickly especially under stress. One thing that struck me as odd about this blade is that the blade was covered in oil and seems to be in the sheath I've never seen that before on any cold steel item I've ever Purchased in the past. Also the uneven grind makes me suspect the knife I received could possibly be a 2nd quality item from Cold Steel. For the price it's OK I wouldn't buy it again I'm still giving it 4 stars hard to find a $30 knife in this range.

Seems legit...time will tell...
Seems legit. Materials and fit/finish are on point. Razor sharp out of the box. Everything consistent with my expectations of Cold Steel budget offerings...time will tell how it holds up versus my other Cold Steel knives.

Great knife!
Ok, I bought this as a larger camp knife, knowing full well it was really just an excuse to buy a new toy. But it turns out, it actually makes a pretty decent camp knife. Cold Steel always makes a heck of a knife, and this is no exception. This thing is tough as sin. For about a full year I used it to cut, split, baton, and shave wood. I’ve abused it to no end, and it just keeps going with just an occasional edge touch up. I don’t normally care for injection molded plastic sheaths, but this one works really well. Turn it upside down, shake it, jar it, and the knife still isn’t going anywhere. It just stays put. But with a quick pull, it’ll slide right out when you want it too. The rubber handle is super grippy. I’ve used it in the pouring down rain, sub freezing, super sweaty hands, with and without gloves, and the knife never slips from your hand. And the steel? It’s a freaking pry bar… and I’ve actually used it as one. I suspect it would take a lot of torque to bend or snap this blade. So, it’s not a camp knife, but it’s pretty versatile for being a big ol’ fighting style tanto. And if you’re into tactical knives, I’m sure this thing would have no problem doing whatever you need out of a big knife. It’s quickly become one of my favorites - 5 stars.
