Q: It says chicken free formula - then why does it have chicken meal as the 2nd ingredient?

If you read the entire description for the product they have removed all chicken ingredients from the dog food. In the ingredients it lists fish meal as the 2nd ingredient and nothing chicken related is in the rest of the ingredient content.

Q: Is there red food dye in this product?

Q: Would this be good for an 80 lb. newfie pup? she has suddenly started rejecting the purina pro plan large breed puppy.

I'd give it a try.......although Max is a Shih Tzu he's as stubborn as a Newfie, and has turned down lots of things - including anything canned. He has turned down a couple of the dries, with this one we leave a dish out all the time so he can eat the dry whenever he wants. Other than that, he's a vegetarian - the latest favorite is uncooked green beans! We also do carrots, broccoli. cauliflower, snap peas, orange, red, or yellow peppers (no green!), lettuce...the list goes on! I had a Newfie when my kids were little - Tamara's North Bay Ebony Knight - we called him Fred! He was 6ft 10 inches nose to tip of tail, and 185 lbs, You can bet if he didn't want to go somewhere on a walk, or eat something (with me under 100 lbs.) he got his way! He was a great dog. I envy you...Enjoy!

We have been feeding out German Shepherd puppy this food ever since we got her, it’s the best out there and especially for their breed!
