Q: will this work on a compresser

I bought this switch for a craftsmen shop vac and it fit perfect. When I was shopping for a replacement switch, I tried to match it to what was the original on the vac. The shop vac is 120 volts. This switch looks like it would work on 120 volt or 220 volt application. I'm not that good with electrical problems. I'm not sure if this answer will help you.

But the automotive applications always use the switch with 12V/24V lamp, but this switch is with 220V lamp. So this switch cann't lighted under 12V/24V.
