AmazonBasics 16-Gauge Speaker Wire - 50 Feet

Used it to extend my sony sa-d100 speakers. Gauge is much thick, compared to the wires used, so you have to increase the hole in the speaker back, or cut the existing wire in between and extend. Overall the wire quality is good, and I didn't find a better wire for speakers. Maybe I could have looked for smaller guage. Soldered the wire in speakers and joined the other part with the existing wire. Do not think of placing it in connector, it won't fit. Sound is great, didn't notice a y distortion.

I've seen many reviews where people complain that this cable is not Copper, its Aluminium and even some saying its fake. So I thought I'll clear some doubts about this product. ITS TRUE! This is not a pure Copper cable, its Copper clad Aluminium. Infact most of the speaker cables are Copper clad Aluminium. Majority of the audio signal travel through the outer edge of the conductor (skin effect), hence the Copper cladding. Thicker the cladding, better the audio quality, this cable only got a thin cladding of Copper The Steel/Aluminium reinforced center is for a more durable conductor. Now no where in the description Amazon has mentioned that this is a pure Copper cladding cable, so just need to get your expectations right. You simply cannot expect Oxygen free pure Copper cable at this price (Rs 400). You will not find a decent 16 gauge Copper speaker cable for less than Rs 2000. This is a cheap 16 gauge speaker and it does the job very well. This cable is more than enough to deliver good sound to your speakers. Cable quality is average but you get what you pay for. Now if got some high end speakers, then I won't recommend this cable.

The materials used seem to be of good quality. The wire is reasonably thick and will serve the purpose for most set ups. I personally do not believe in splurging too much on cables. For the same reason, I will not comment on any 'perceived' sonic differences. For me, this is perfect.

I am using it as 7.1 speaker wire. It is very strong, value for money.

I must say that the quality of this wire is great. There are very few instances I have come across a product of such a good quality product. I bought this product for my home theatre based on the amazon.com ratings and I wasn't disappointed. I am glad to see that this is the same product sold both in US and here. The cable is pretty flexible for a 16 gauge and it is 100 times better than the cables that came with my home theatre. I didn't hear even a slight noise on my speakers after using these, unlike the crackling and the buzzing sound you would hear on cheap wires. You don't need to think twice before you want to buy this product.

It is late night, am waiting till tomorrow morning to cut the cable to the lengths I need and expose the bare wire at both ends so that I can connect the speakers to the amplifier...Then only can I audition them...

I have an old Sony stereo from my teenage years and it used to always have great sound. Unfortunately over time the original wires wore off and the sound quality dropped. I ordered this 16 guage copper wire after reading up on it. It seemed expensive and I really didn't need 50ft of wire! Still ended up ordering it. I have absolutely no regrets! I was able to restore my old stereo and the sound quality is amazing, just like old times. I listen to mostly rhythm and blues and music that is heavy on bass, low on treble, these wires carried the sound well enough, I highly recommend this for anyone who is an audiophile.

The wire is good and sound quality also is good. Worth the money.

Great basic speaker wire; allowed me to extend my speakers/place them appropriately for optimal sound. No buzzing or fuzz, good performance for the price.
