Great Value and Versatility for Home Projects, Just Upgrade the Accessories. I bought the BLACK+DECKER KR554RE Hammer Drill specifically for a variety of home DIY projects, and I'm genuinely impressed with the machine itself. It is a fantastic, versatile tool that delivered great performance across all the surfaces I tested. I used it on wood, concrete, and even ceramic tile, and the 550W motor and hammer function made quick work of everything I threw at it. For the price, the power and reliability of the drill machine are exceptional, making it a solid investment for any serious DIYer. It's lightweight enough to handle easily but robust enough to feel like a serious tool. My only constructive criticism—and the reason for deducting one star—is the quality of the included drill bits. Specifically, the tile bits were disappointing and had a tendency to slip, making the initial drilling process frustrating until I switched to a higher-quality after-market bit. Overall, this is a great product. If you are looking for a powerful, reliable, and variable-speed drill machine that excels on multiple materials, just plan on purchasing a separate, better set of drill bits, and you’ll be set!

I purchased a set of Bosch Masonry Bits and another set of Wood Bits ● The Depth Gauge can be adjusted to work as a stopper while drilling to prevent from over-drilling ● The speed is variable; speed increases as we apply more pressure on the trigger. If you press the lock switch with the trigger pressed down, the trigger will lock at ON position until you unlock it ● The hammer function is useful while drilling on masonry or concrete ● The reverse function helps to release the bit if it gets jammed inside the masonry ● The vibrations are shielded to an extent; still we feel it especially while hammer drilling ● There is heat produced while drilling; but that is normal. I have not yet had the need to use this continuously for more than a minute. ● I have once used a long iron rod as the bit to drill a hole through 6 inch brick wall and worked fine ● If you master applying the right amount of pressure on the trigger, this can be used for fastening or unfastening screws, polish your car, etc. (provided you have the correct bits) ● I did also purchase '3M 1621 Safety Goggles' for protection of my eyes against any flying debris and dust while drilling ** I don't like these ** ● This did not come with a case, and I could not find a suitable case to buy as well. Its not easy to store this without a case since insects may find their homes inside if kept unused for a long time. I have now reinforced the packing case it came in with Sellotapes as a make-shift case. Obviously, the price would not be the same if case is also included ● The power cable could have been longer. To drill a hole on the ceiling, you have to drag the extension code and that weight adds on to your hand fatigue ● The drill bits were of poor qualiy ** Value for Money ** ● I have used this to drill on masonry, concrete, wood and PVC ● For me, this is serving my household drilling needs and is value for money for ₹2059/- which I paid in Feb-16 and rate FIVE stars ** Update after one year: Feb-17 ** ● I have used this atleast once in a month for various tasks like fixing nail holes, polishing old granite sab, plumbing tasks and is a reliable workhorse ● Its been working fine without any issues and I am satisfied.

I was sceptical at purchase as I have been using a Bosch for over decade and in use at another home of ours While priced low this one is quite good for your home DIY Works on walls as well Reversible Impact and normal as I could see Comes with 4 bits for wall/impact. Cord length is adequate and standard. Additional Hand hold (grip) is a bonus The drill depth scale too is a good to have feature Feels sturdy yet light. Recommended

I purchased this Drill to install a cat door, along with a Jigsaw from the same company. The make and build of both these power tools is quite impressive, especially the Jigsaw. I am attaching a photo of the installed cat door along with the perfectly carved out piece of the door. Even the rounded edges went smoothly with this Jigsaw. I was obviously a bit apprehensive but went ahead, holding the saw firmly on the door's surface and it did the job superbly. Makes you feel you are a pro :) The power drill is also worth your money, but the provided bits aren't that good, which is something I expected after reading some of the helpful reviews here. I was able to drill through my door (about 1.5 inch) with difficulty, and despite starting with a smaller bit, had to make the hole manually with my screw driver. I also had to make another hole on the much thicker door frame to thread a cable, but these bits weren't sufficient. That said, it's not for the lack of capacity of the drill itself. It's a keeper. I purchased a trishul bit for 40 bucks and ordered another auger bit, and both drilled through without issues. One con: cable for both is rather short and you will need a 6 amp extension cord to reach higher or outside surfaces. It should have been long enough to atleast reach all indoor areas. All in all, I am not a professional, but even those will find these tools enviable! I am hoping these will last long, given my usage will be occasional at best.
