Dinos Love Donuts (Mythical Feasts) Review: A Sweet Treat of a Read! - My daughter is squarely in her dinosaur phase, and she also has a major sweet tooth (what 4-year-old doesn't?), so "Dinos Love Donuts" felt like it was written just for her. The whole idea of different dinosaurs chowing down on giant donuts is just the right kind of silly for her. We've had some good giggles over which dino would eat which donut and how messy they'd be. The Good Stuff (Pros): Winning Combo: Dinosaurs plus donuts? It's a pretty genius pairing for kid appeal. My little one was hooked from the cover. Yummy Illustrations: The pictures are bright, colorful, and make the donuts look incredibly tempting – even the dinos seem to agree! She loves pointing out the different types of donuts and the funny expressions on the dinosaurs' faces. Silly Scenarios: The book doesn't take itself too seriously, which is great. It’s fun to imagine these huge creatures delicately (or not so delicately) handling their sweet treats. It led to some funny imaginative play for us later. Easy to Follow: The story, from what I recall (it’s been a few reads now!), was pretty straightforward. The text wasn’t too dense, which is good for her attention span and for her starting to pick out some familiar words. Could Be Better (Cons): More of a Fun Romp than a Deep Story: If you're looking for a book with a big message or intricate plot, this is more about the fun visuals and the silly concept. But for a lighthearted read, it’s perfect. Wanted MORE Dinos/Donuts!: My daughter actually wished there were even more types of dinosaurs and donuts featured. She started listing off other dinos she knows and what donut they'd like. Bottom Line: This was a really fun, lighthearted book that hit on two of my daughter's favorite things. It’s a visual treat, sparks the imagination, and is just plain enjoyable. If you've got a dino-loving, donut-appreciating kid, they'll probably eat this one up! Review: You don't have to be a parent to love 'Dinos Love Donuts' - I stumbled upon 'Dinos Love Donuts' while searching for a special gift for a friend's baby shower, and what a gem it turned out to be! Despite not being a parent myself, I was instantly drawn to the whimsical charm and clever storytelling of this book. The imaginative premise of dinosaurs obsessing over donuts, using them for everything from safety to dance props, was very clever and cute. The author's knack for playful rhymes and the vibrant illustrations brought the prehistoric party to life in such a light and fun way! This feels like a book that a kiddo can grow into and get enjoyment out of at many ages. Even though I was buying this gift for a baby shower, I loved how 'Dinos Love Donuts' bridges the gap between children's entertainment and adult enjoyment seamlessly. There was subtle humor sprinkled throughout and I ended up flipping through it multiple times before wrapping it up for the baby shower. If you're searching for a gift that's not just another run-of-the-mill baby book but rather a treasure that both parents and their little ones can enjoy together, look no further than 'Dinos Love Donuts.'

Very cute story, beautiful illustrations, fun puns for parents
Both my kids (3.5, 1.5) LOVED this book! Would be great for older kids as well. It's a good length. Colors and illustrations are beautiful and captivated my kids' attention (and they have short attention spans!). Fun for parents too - loved the puns, the cute conversation bubbles, and all the new words to teach the kids along the way. Although the intent of the book is not necessarily educational, it served as a good conversation starter on some new words, types of dinosaurs, and what happened to the dinosaurs (in real life!). There's a recipe at the end of donut holes - we are excited to make them. Love that there's an associated activity. And both my kids love baking. Would make a great addition to a home library as well as a very fun birthday gift for others. I will be buying more to gift my nieces and friends!

Silly, Heartwarming, and Wonderful!
This is an extremely fun and engaging story! My 7.5 year old LOVED the puns that are trickled throughout, the illustrations are bright and colorful, and the way the words are shaped around some of the illustrations is a fun detail, too. Both of my kiddos (4.5 and 7.5) are STILL walking around the house saying “Holy Fiddlesticks!!", and the rhymes were easy enough for my youngest to follow, while still being captivating for my oldest. My oldest also took a turn reading out loud without stumbling over the rhymes, which is always a good sign of great writing to me when it comes to books in this style :)

Dinos and donuts whats not to love?
The kids love this book. The vibrant illustrations bring the playful dinos to life in a way that is both captivating and endearing, and the subtle touch of adult humor adds an extra layer of enjoyment for parents. What truly sets this book apart is its message of overcoming fears and trying new things. It's a book that will surely become a favorite. I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a fun and engaging read that will entertain both kids and adults alike. Our kids are 7 months and 3 years and it's more a hit with the 3yo but I'm sure the younger one will love it too!

A bit too much for my 3 year old granddaughter
This story was a bit more than my 3 year old granddaughter could handle. I skipped a LOT of it without her even knowing.

Bright colours and great illustrations to draw the reader in, and two of the topics that my little one is really into right now. Highly recommend this book!

This story is full of fun, humour and fantastic illustrations which really bring it to life. My daughter giggled away at it and we both loved the ending. The story is told in a very easy to follow way, which is engaging and imaginative with a very clever ending. The illustrations fit the narrative perfectly. My daughter enjoyed looking at the different types of donuts and discussing which ones she'd like best and acted out some of the silly dances too. Such a fun story.

This story is cute and totally silly. Don't take it too seriously and you'll love the rhyme, rhythm, and silly puns. The final pages reveal the whole story is one big joke, funny for adults and funny for the kids when you explain extinction! My 4yo is a dino-lover and asks for this book every night!
