I was surprised at how small the print is, especially the Arabic. But it is a good dictionary

Bought this to help my daughter with her Arabic classes. Its ok, doesn't contain some common words and cross checking is also difficult.

Looking for a translating dictionary from English to Arabic and the pronunciation. Didn’t have what I expected

While using the Merriam-Webster Arabic-English dictionary, I noticed several pronunciation inconsistencies. For instance, the Arabic term for "main office" is written as "مكتب رئيسي", but the pronunciation provided is "Maktab a'ala," which is incorrect. There are other similar issues throughout the dictionary. I previously used the Collins Dictionary app, but it also had problems with inaccurate pronunciations. I expected Merriam-Webster to offer higher quality, especially given its reputation. Additionally, the font size for Arabic is quite small, making it difficult to read, especially for beginners who rely heavily on the dictionary for accurate pronunciation and writing. Overall, while the dictionary is functional, it falls short of being an excellent resource for learning Arabic.

O dicionário, ao contrário das minhas expectativas, é do tipo "de bolso" (17cm x 10,5cm) e o papel é, também contrariando expectativas é daquele tipo de papel parecido ao de jornal. As traduções inglês-árabe ora são de palavras no árabe informal, ora traduzidas para a versão no Árabe Moderno Padrão (Fusha). Não é, portanto, muito completo. Eu o havia buscado para consultar 99% as traduções do árabe a partir do inglês, mas achei mais interessante usando de maneira contrária. As palavras com os diacríticos (harikats) são minoria. O ponto positivo é que chegou muito antes do prazo, o que achei curioso por ser uma compra internacional.
