I do a fair bit of research before buying things and this smart toilet was no exception. Eplo has a good reputation, and is rated well on Amazon and this toilet had all the features I wanted (automatic open and close, automatic flush, heated seat, foam dispenser, heated water with a system that provides continuously warm water (there is nothing worse than starting out with warm water then getting hit with a blast of cold water once the warm water runs out) and the option to switch things off (opening sensor, beeping, eco mode, etc.) The existing toilet this replaced was beautiful (Kohler Avoir) but stupid - no bidet function. It had a weird connection point (1/2" FIP to 3/4" compression). The Eplo toilet has either a 1/2" or 3/8" connection. So I changed out the valve (which was straight up from the floor) with a 1/2"FIP to 1/2" compression. The distribution valve provided has an inner ring so it can connect to either 1/2" or 3/8". I just remove the adapter so the 1/2" compression fit right on my 1/2" FIP to 1/2" compression. BTW I could not find a straight shutoff valve of 1/2" FIP to 1/2" compression shut off valve with 1/4 turn at Home Depot. I did find and buy one at Do it Best and it fit perfectly. Most stores carry 1/2" to 3/8" compression which would have worked also with the adapter provided by Eplo but I wanted the least amount of adapters installed. Installing the toilet is easy. They give you a template to mark the outline of the toilet based on the waste hole. Just use a marker to mark the outline and remove the template. I installed the bolts and side connectors right to the fitting on the floor used for the old toilet. They provide a wax ring which fits on the underside of the toilet. Then you just line up the toilet with the outline on the floor and set it in place. The receptacle is tapered so it is easy to install so you don't have to worry about messing up the wax ring. The side bolts lined up perfectly and then you just need to shim if required (for uneven floors). You then remove the outline with some goof off and caulk around the bottom of the toilet. Very straightforward and easy. I did email Eplo through Amazon regarding my shutoff valve and their adapter. They video called me back the same day. After I had finished the install I had some questions about the operation of some of the features. They again called me back the same day. Obviously in this day and age, that kind of customer service is off the charts. I bought the IX7 which is tankless (so is the Avoir). This is something to consider if you have low water pressure. I knew I had good water pressure since I was replacing a tankless toilet with a tankless toilet. If you have low pressure you may want to opt for the toilet with the tank (PRO version), but mine flushes great. I did try and ensure there were no restrictions to the toilet (kept the shutoff valve straight, used a quarter turn shutoff valve and not multi turn, used the 1/2" FIP to 1/2" compression). I can't speak to the longevity of this toilet since I have only had this installed for 2 weeks, but considering the after sales response so far, I think I'm going to be happy for a long time. BTW, if you are using a regular toilet and have not tried a bidet toilet, there is no comparison. The bells and whistles (pre flush, foam cover, kick button to raise the cover and seat for us guys, remote control) are great toys for us geeks but the best parts are the warm seat and warm water/bidet function). This toilet has it all.

So far so good! Been working great for 3 months. We got two for our house. I love the heated seat. It’s a bit too many bells and whistles for me personally but you can adjust a lot of settings on it. I love how sleek it looks. It does say to not use a disinfectant spray on the toilet seat as it can cause yellowing due to the seat being antibacterial. But can’t imagine not cleaning my toilet that way so I just use one and then rinse it off. Our contractor had no issue installing them.

We are extremely happy with this purchase and even happier with their product support. We have been using it for 2 weeks and had an issue with the cover not opening completely. I sent an email to EPLO Support and had a phone call back from China within a couple of hours. Lee walked me through the solution on video chat and gave me his number in case I needed to follow up. I cannot remember ever getting this level of customer support.
