Simple to use. Good value. Very few instructions. Charging light goes off when done charging the coal car. FyI engine only has motor so only coal car has batteries (included) Water for steam effect is lovely and lasts 30 mins or so, but I wish it had an off switch so I don't have to worry about running the heater dry and damaging it. Passenger cars have a tab underneath near front wheels to pull out of the watch battery packs. No window glass, but lit cars look nice. Red switch under front of each car for lights is hard to turn on and off without removing cars from track. Wish it was on the top or side of cars, not bottom. Train sounds are lovely. Bells horn and engine noise. Also wish it had a silent mode. Train signals departure before moving forward. Love that. Train slowly rolls put of station, sounds horn and then picks up speed. Only one cruising speed. Love that too. Track locks together nicely and securely. Decals on engine are low contrast and hard to see. Might add white lines. Cars are plastic not metal. Watch batteries in passenger car look hard to replace. No instructions. Overall nice train. Slightly larger than HO scale.

A pleasant surprise. Better than I expected. Runs smoothly. Has nice steam engine sound effects. Battery life is good. Easy to assemble. No complaints at all.

Very realistic looking. Great sound and steam works really well. We returned a different train for this one as this was sturdier/heavier and stayed on the track better. Charge lasts a long time. Still, it is fussy to get/keep upright on track and the light switched for cars are on the bottom - hard to reach without taking train off the track. Still, better quality than some others we tried in this process range. Just need patience and a respect toddler!

This is an excellent train set, perfect for setting up and running as-is, or customizing and building into a more elaborate display. Set-up is simple, with a number of nice options for track configuration. The smoke effect is just right, and the quality of sound effects is fine. NOTE: For those who complained that you can't turn the sound off... yes, you can! Just hold the horn button on the remote for a few seconds to toggle the sound on and off. The durability of this set is good, just about what you should expect for a model train consisting of (mostly) plastic material. The remote works well and maintains connection at a good distance. Overall, this is a great value for the money spent.

I bought a red set and a green set. Each set comes with a train engine, coal car (battery pack) and two passenger cars. With two sets I used 4 passenger cars and have a spare coal car battery pack and a spare train engine. I have not tried the steam function yet but I really don't need it but it's a nice addition. The engine is heavy and made of metal but the coal and passenger cars are plastic. Each passenger car has an individual switch for lights. The coal car must be charged with a USB adapter cable (included) and a USB plug in charger (not included). When plugged into a USB wall charger a red light comes on in the charge port plug to indicate charging and it goes out when fully charged. There are batteries already installed for the passenger cars but there is a plastic pull tab that must be removed from each car before use. It would be nice if the one power switch on the train engine turned everything on but it just runs the engine and steam. It is a really nice realistic looking set and I would purchase again, and definitely two sets.

This product is absolute junk and cheaply made like most of these such toys made these days. The train keeps getting derailed. The carriages fall over. My 6 yo son was so excited for it and all it caused was frustration for him. The “4 pcs of additions” advertised are just pieces off hard cardboard. That looks extremely tacky and is almost impossible to put together. My husband abandoned trying to put it together. There is a fountain that looks pathetic. Do not waste your money or time on this worthless plastic junk

This train set is great value. I am really enjoying it and will keep it up year-round. I like it so much I bought another one as a Christmas gift for my daughter and her family in the UK. I was happy to find the exact model on Amazon UK. I see this as an adult-assisted activity. Set-up and operation require attention to detail and dexterity to achieve success and to prevent damage to the delicate connections. But you are rewarded with great performance and entertainment. Love it.

It is a decent purchase it runs well, the tracks are bigger than expected which is great. There area few things thou that i think keeps me fron giving it 5 stars….for the price i thought the train was going to be off better material, its just plastic. Also The train comes off the tracks pretty often, specially when it turns so thats a bit annoying we have to keep fixing it. Another thing the smoke does not always work and it leaks. Other than that if we can keep it in the tracks it runs smoothly. To be honest I don’t think i would buy again.

Works as it should. The cars seem a bit cheapish, thought there would be more metal, but it’s easy to set up with different configurations which is nice. The steam feature is super cute. The charging of the battery car was easy, however it feels a little sketch as the connector doesn’t clip into the car, it just loosely connects, so be sure not to move it after you’ve connected it. It will dislodge. It’s not too loud, but could potentially be annoying if you intend on leaving it on for the 4 hours that it can run.

I really like this train set. It’s well made and works great. The annoying part is it has very loud sound effects such as chugging sound and whistling sounds that are unending. With no way to silence the sounds it becomes very annoying after a few minutes.

Right size, right price....so glad we ordered it.
