We've been underwater photographers since 1986, visiting amazing places and capturing photos and video along the way. We are fascinated by the potential of this new underwater drone by Chasing that allows the operator to remain in the boat (or on land) while the drone navigates and shoots underwater. The main components are the 2.4 pound camera drone, the floating WiFi control buoy and the Chasing GoTo app on your phone or smart pad. The bright yellow tether cable between the buoy and the drone reaches almost 50 feet. The downloaded smart app allows us to see the camera's view at 720p video -- a low resolution digital setting -- but good enough to aim and select our subject. The drone is well built. The propellers are inset so as to keep them safe. It's a little bit of a challenge to learn to move the drone in the direction you choose. In terms of ease of use, it's a winner. The integrity of the unit suggests it should remain waterproof for a long time as long as it does not exceed 50 feet deep. The built-in lights are OK for medium-close subjects but useless for larger objects at a distance. The auto focus generally works well but when it can't find a subject, the focus struggles. We installed a 128T micro SD V60 card to capture the video recordings as 1080 MP4. In terms of live streaming, that's not something on our radar, but others might see the need. The battery life is rated for one hour of use underwater, but we find it comes up just a bit short if recording video all the time. This is a fine little underwater drone for those that want to explore the depths of a shallow reef from shore, or more likely from a boat. It's well designed, well built and seems to be a good value.

This is probably one of the coolest and most random thing I ever bought. Saw it popped up on the amazon main page and I decided to give it a try. I bought this one to bring it with me on a trip to a tropical country so I can dive under the sea and use it to check on sea lifes. But I have to warn you that it’s heavy so you have to save good space or put it in carry-on luggage to avoid damage. So far everything looks good. Will update more on here after my trip!!!

Dory arrived without the steel pin used to remove debris in thrusters. Thrusters immediately had debris issues. User manual & customer service subpar in content and even basic English. Hard to learn how to manipulate if poor instructions and thrusters malfunctioning. Other than these issues, it is a good piece of equipment and generally very well built, high quality. It’s a shame that the user experience is marred by insufficient effort in Customer Service and instructions.

The drone glides smoothly in the water, and the connection between the device and app stays stable during normal use, though it might not be as good in rough water or if your Wi-Fi is weak. Setting it up is easy, with clear instructions and simple pairing to the app. Once you’re in the water, the unit stays balanced and easy to navigate without needing any complicated calibration. Overall, this underwater drone is well-built, the camera works great, it’s easy to use, and it offers good value as a fun and capable way to explore underwater.

This underwater drone is truly professional. The build quality is excellent, and the app control via phone/tablet is very smooth. I’m also impressed by their comprehensive customer support. Perfect for exploration. I'll update with video once the water clears up after the rainy season, but so far it has met all my expectations.

This little guy is truly amazing. I love taking nature photos and now I can capture underwater ones as well. This drone is both affordable and takes amazing photos and video. My husband and I are both enjoying this. I don't think I have ever enjoyed learning something new as much as I have this. Thank you so much guys for giving me an opportunity to explore underwater!
