Why have metabones?
Fitted to my GH5 and Sigma art lenses, superb results and a fraction of the cost of the Metabones, easily as good.

Not perfect, but close, and great value!
Used on a Panasonic G9 and sigma 18-35 1.8. Cons - There's slight vignetting (might be the lens) and is mitigated by stopping down to around 2.8 and initially the lens couldn't reach infinity focus, but that was easily fixed by rotating the element clockwise until it worked properly. Pros - Image quality seems nice and sharp and the extra stop of light is noticeable when compared to not using a speedbooster. IBIS, AF and aperture all work through the camera, although AF doesn't work well continuously for photos and a bit too noisy for video. Definitely worth it over metabones if you value money

Good Quality
Product arrived fast and well packed. Satisfied with the product and overall quality of it. Well built, suits my Gh5 perfectly.

Brilliant value.
After a bit of fiddling with the lens facing glass as per online instructions, I've now got this taking some wonderful images (see above, taken at f4 on my Sigma 18-35 1.8 lens paired with a GH4). It's perhaps not quite as sharp as using a decent native lens. However I intend to use it for video, so it's more than good enough for that. It seems well made - it fits the camera/lens snuggly. Autofocus isn't perfect, but it's actually better than I thought it would be.

Has hick ups but works
Creates Softer focus and has problems with infinity focus even when adjusting the ring. Software has problems with adjusting aperture even when downgrading to 2.3 V and so it suffers from glitches. It tends to work better with sharp lenses when it works properly with the internal aperture

This does not work with Blackmagic 4K camera.
Mechanically the adapter is OK, but the auto-focus does not function. When I purchased, it was not clear this was an issue, although now there is a warning - but it is easy to miss on the web-site. I would like to return it but left it too late. Depending on your needs it is easier and probably more cost effective to buy a new lens.

The metabones killer
I’ve had this thing for ages now as I couldn’t afford the metabones version. Works perfectly, footage still looks really good. Id buy it again if I broke it for sure.

Possibly faulty unit, replacement is great so far!!
UPDATE: The new item arrived and worked straight away without any problem. First unit must have been faulty. Still great build quality and price. I’ve upped my rating from 2 to 4 stars. Possibly 5 stars once I’ve used it some more. Original review: I wanted to like this product SO much but it didn’t work right out of the box. I was using a listed lens, the Canon 70-200mm f4 but from power on with the GH5, I received the “Lens attachment Failed” warning. (Adapter firmware up to date) The build quality looks great and the price is reasonable but that doesn’t really matter if the product doesn’t work! I’m ordering a replacement to see if it was a faulty unit. I’ll update this review accordingly depending on how the replacement works out.

I was definitely impressed! I tested it on GH5 using the following lenses: 16-35mm Mk III, 24-70mm Mk II, 35 Mk II 1.4, 50 1.8 and 24-105mm Mk I and they all worked surprisedly well! My co-workers who are also professional video producers were also very impressed! That extra full stop of light is going to really come in handy in low light settings! Awesome value for the money! I plan to buy another for my B cam. Definitely recommend it!

This speedbooster is amazing , everything is crystal clear , While paired with canon 50mm f1.8 lens the autofocus working amazingly in lumix g85 , The ibis is working and the main advantage is the f1.8 come down to f1.3 , No need of premium metabones i am satisfied with the viltrox premium videos and pictures, autofocus in video is not that great , and i always prefer manual so that is not a problem for me
