John Beswick (now owned by Dartington Crystal) ceramic 14 cms Tea Light Holder:- Steinlen ~ Le Chat Noir. A beautiful stand alone piece this small tealight holder will attract many admiring looks or can be displayed with others in this collection.
This striking tealight features Théophile Steinlen's well known & most enduring images, Le Chat Noir - (the black cat). Steinlen was a French Art Nouveau painter and printmaker. His poster, Le Chat Noir was the advertisement for the nineteenth-century entertainment establishment, in the bohemian Montmartre district of Paris, which opened in 1881 at 84 Boulevard Rochechouart, Paris by Rodolphe Salis.
This Beswick art Tea Light Holder is made from kiln-fired ceramic, producing a vibrant colour and gloss finish.
