As someone who loves salty foods, I have cankers from time to time. Most have little to impact to my quality of life but every once in a while I have one that hurts or bothers me to the point where I feel like I need something. I was looking on here for something to help me and really wanted to go with some type of patch/bandage but after reading the bad reviews on a few of those products, I decided to go with this product. And I'm so glad that I did.I put a little of the product on a cotton swab and dry the affected area with a paper towel as best I can and try to keep it dry by pulling my lip away from the area. While the area is still dry, I apply the product on the swab and wait about a minute before releasing my lip. I then go about my life as usual. I have had this product last over 16 hours with one application (admittedly in an area that is easy to protect). It does sting a little when first applying but my sore also hurts even when just drying it before the product - hence why I felt the need to buy something to treat and alleviate the pain and why they are called "sores."After cutting the tip off of the tube, it's very easy to apply. You only need a very small amount of product to effectively treat/protect the sore. It does form a protective barrier where applied which lessens the pain and sensitivity immensely. When I eventually run out of this product or it expires, I will be buying more. I've tried several other products over the years and nothing has worked like this, nearly as well as it does and for as long as it does. I will say that if your sore is in an area that is more exposed than my current one, you may need to reapply more often but it does work. Just make sure the area is dry prior to application and kept dry for about a minute after application.

Best stuff ever! I made the mistake of buying Orajel first and while it's a good product, it doesn't offer much protection to cut gums so I went back to my old standby: Zilactin. Fantastic stuff! Creates a protective layer over the problem and lasts for a good while, helping the injury to heal. It tastes horrible at first; imagine using white rum to kill pain and then it tastes even worse after the initial application but that doesn't last long and it's just relief afterwards. Totally worth it.Try not to put it on top of your teeth though because it comes right off - got some on there by accident - and then it's like chewing rubber until it either wears off or you figure out how to get that small amount back off. Not worth worrying about though Not a deal breaker. :DGreat product! Never fails.

I am very satisfied. I think the film that the serum forms over the mouth injury helps with healing and pain relief arrive faster than with other oral medicines that I have tried. I plan to buy this product every time a tube gets low.

Follow the directions on the tube. The box directions are not descriptive. Apply with accuracy. THIS WILL BURN/STING like the hair on your chest and tears in your eyes. The stinging lasts for about a minute. Allowed to dry for that time before closing your mouth, otherwise it taste worse and gets messy. It applies a coating over the canker sore and protects it fromfood, teeth abrasion, liquid irritants etc. It lasts for about 3 hours. IT STARTS THE HEALING PROCESS! While the primary focus in the ingredients is Benzocaine, the alcohol and salicylic acid as inactive ingredients clean and treat it (this is not claimed in the description). It’s comes down to a choice- Would you rather have two plus weeks of miserable pain of a canker sore OR would you rather experience a week worth of throbbing pain for about four minutes a day and peace for the rest of the day?IT WORKS!!!!!!Gave 4 stars due to taste and stinging BUT ITS WORTH IT

When I wore braces on my teeth the dentist recommended this for the sores in my mouth. My son uses it for his canker sores and it help protect the area. Puts a bandaid over the area so to speak. Have been using it for over 20 years

This is so good if you have a canker sore or any type of mouth sores it does sting a bit when you put it on but it is will take the pain away. It is small so you can bring it anywhere with you and it’s super easy to use.

Oh wow! It burns like crazy bad for 2-3 seconds then is completely numb. If not for this I would not have been able to eat for a few days due to mouth sores from an allergic reaction to bactrim antibiotics.

Takes care of mouth pain, but the taste is bad for a while. Dentures rub wrong sometimes and I needed something that lasted longer. These last a few hours but I wish that bad taste did not linger around. A few swishes of drink or hard candy helps.
