Even though it was quite a bit of money, it was worth every penny. I have put 130 plus miles on the battery since installing it and it has been working great on my ES1 scooter. The take off power has increased a LOT. It can go up hills that it was unable to go up before. It does go about 3 mph faster as well (top speed). Install was easy, it came with all the tooling required. You CAN install it with a different percentage of charge compared to the scooter. I installed it with the scooter at 47 percent and the extended battery was at 72 percent. No issues with that. It works seamlessly with the app and shows you all of the info on that second battery.

The battery worked great after installed. I am returning it only because with the range added it didn’t make the distance uphill. The battery also is mounted right where you are supposed to carry it, which makes it harder to carry, and of course adds weight to the scooter.It definitely speeds it up, and adds good range, as well as glows red along the sides in a dynamic breathing pattern akin to the bottom of the scooter. Honestly, I just had a hard time With it, but it does the job. The scooter ended up not working for me, so I am returning the battery. It’s weighted, makes the kickstand problematic as the scooter wants to tip over more, but does as it says it does for the most part. Going uphill, like from SE LA to Pasadena will suck the battery out quick. As always, weight, temperature, ground conditions, and rider habits influence the lifespan. For me, it died at 16.5 miles.

The mounting screws required too much force, almost enough to strip the hex head, and one of them was never completely flush with the plate. Despite this, the battery is firmly attached, and it works flawlessly otherwise. Battery telemetry data (serial number, voltage, instantaneous current, state-of-charge) is all available via the Segway-Ninebot app (over Bluetooth), same as for the built-in battery in the ES2. This only marginally increases the weight of the ES2, while giving it much better hill-climbing power (I verified that each battery simultaneously contributes about 350W of power while climbing a 10%+ grade) and much greater range. The downside is making it more awkward to carry folded, because the battery blocks the ideal hand-hold location on the stem, where it would be balanced in your hand. It also contributes to the front-weighting of the scooter, making it harder to carry over curbs or up small steps (the bottom plate tends to hit ankles and shins). If you live in an area without hills or don't need the range, this battery is not worth the drawbacks. Otherwise, it's a great upgrade.

When I installed the battery on my new ES2 a message on the APP said the firmware on the 2nd battery needs to be updated. There is no way to do this using the APP and there were no instructions on the box covering this issue. I will be returning.Update: I downloaded app to IPAD and was able to upgrade firmware on battery. The battery makes a big difference on speed and torque.

I installed this on my ES1 and although it says in many different reviews that it will not boost the speed of the ES1 by much, they were all wrong.Before this addition my scoot would go about 6-7 mph up inclines and 12-13 mph on flat ground.After taking a quick 10 mins to install this unit, I powered her on and immediately I felt a huge power difference.Now my scoot does 12mph up inclines and 16mph on the flats. I absolutely love my scooter again because of this addition.

It was easy to install on my ES1. I was able to purchase this for $200 here. The instructions come in the ES1 manual and on the outside of the box that the battery comes in. This battery doubles the distance my ES1 can go and on a smooth road I was able to get it up to 18mph!!! I’m loving the scooter and this battery made it a lot better.

The one I got from this seller would not update the firmware which was frustrating, but have used this product before from other sellers without an issue. Gave the scooter a top speed of 19-20mph and allowed improved hill climbing.

Easy to install. Adds notable speed and distance capabilities above and beyond the base battery.
