My box did have both. But I prefer actually to use tacky glue due to the smallness of the scale 1:24, which is one half the size of a typical miniature scale dollhouse (So instead of the bed being 6" long it is only 3 -4" long). Tacky glue is longer adjustable than normal white glue included.

Q: What type of music box is needed?

You will need a music box that is either sold by the same company or another company that sells the same model. The reason is that the preinstalled holes might not matchup and the depth might not be the same. Mine had a music box with it but I can't guarantee your particular order will. It is normally stated if it does or not.
