The best investment I made for my home network, seriously.
After years of eyeing Ubiquiti’s UniFi access points, I finally made the switch, and I’m so glad I did. This access point is an absolute powerhouse! I didn’t realize just how good these could be until I installed them in my home. The setup was surprisingly easy, and the fact that they’re powered by PoE (Power over Ethernet) makes installation clean with just a single cable. They’re designed for both indoor and outdoor use, with excellent weatherproofing, so I’ve been able to mount them wherever I need without worry. One of the standout features is the ability to add external antennas for extra signal quality/range. I’ve deployed two of these in my three-story house, and the coverage is flawless—every corner of my home has a strong, reliable signal. I plan next to install one outside to help extend our network into our garden building. The sleek, minimalist design is a bonus too; they blend seamlessly into the environment and don’t stick out like some bulky routers or access points. It doesn't scream "HEY! I'm a wifi point!".. To get the most out of these, I’d recommend pairing them with a Ubiquiti gateway. Doing so unlocks a whole world of advanced configuration options, giving you complete control over your network. It’s a bit of an investment, but the performance and flexibility are worth every penny. If you’re considering upgrading your Wi-Fi setup, I can’t recommend the UniFi UK-ULTRA enough. It’s been a game-changer for my home network, and I wish I’d made the switch sooner!

Just like its name, does it all well!
Does exactly what you need, works indoor and outdoor and its a great value product. Highly recommend these and worth getting before they stop making them Sure its only wifi5 but works well for my use case

A hard to beat, small access point.
Despite having TP-Link BE85, WiFi 7 (in WiFi access point mode), I use a Unifi Dream Router 7 as my router (I have used Unifi since 205), I wanted to create a simple WiFi bridge from our house to an out building, I bought two of these, got antennae for both (5Dbi) and made sure mesh mode was enabled, and voila a simple easy WiFi bridge, best of all both devices are inside the buildings so no unsightly antenna on either building, there’s a Poe switch powering the devices and also acting as a data distributor at the far end (just in case you were wondering how this bridge worked with a single RJ45 on the device). Normal unifi settings to adjust and overall I am very happy. They’re WiFi 5 but that’s probably fast enough for most people. With the provided wall mount, you should probably get away with putting a number of them around your house if it’s a large property and especially if its already wired, with a single POE switch powering them.

Great Value Kit for Specific Use Cases
Fantastic bit of kit. Very cost effective. I use it to connect an inverter and battery in my garage that are on the fringe of my main AP's coverage. I initially used it as a repeater, and it worked well, but now that I've had CAT6 extended to said garage, it's working as an AP. I really like the mounting options it comes with as well.

Surprisingly good coverage with the built in antenna.
You buy this for a specific use case. You should know off the bat it's limitations, but they should't matter if you use it appropriately. The main limitaiton is it's a Wifi 5 (older standard, thus an older chipset) unit. I had also read reviews prior to purchasing that stated you can't turn off the individual radios at at the AP level, but I can do that (so maybe that's been changed via a software patch at some point). For me the wifi 5 standard didn't matter as I was going to use this exclusively outside for garden coverage, and the older tech is perfectly sufficient for this (you're not going to be streaming 8k whilst downloading 300gb ISO's from the middle of the garden). I don't have any cell service on my property, so ensuring my devices could use wifi calling was the main driver. It was all about coverage and usable throughput for me. I purchased one and placed it in my garden for testing using the standard built-in antenna. I played around with various channel widths etc; given my requirement is really only 100mbit to the end device, 5GHz on 20MHz channel width using DFS 100 was perfect for me (this is a great combination for maximum EIRP if you don't have radar to contend with on DFS channels. It gives upwards of 300mbit/s, and by dropping the channel width you effectively increase the transmit power by 3db/m each time). The width of my garden is about 27 meters. I placed the AP roughly in the middle. I was able to achieve a stable signal (never dropping below -70) as I waked up and down the garden. This is all using the built in antenna. I imagine with the AP mounted a little higher (it's only 1m atm) that 27m will have even more range. So for the price and size of the thing, I think it's good value, certainly in my situation. As I say, you can't just buy any AP and shoehorn it to fit your requirements, you need to determine what is going to work for you ahead of time. And you shouldn't just default to 5GHz @ 80MHz outside....use different widths for your requirements. I could have splashed out on a U7 Outdoor, but I don't see the need and I'll probably buy another couple of these to cover the rest of my garden. For me it doens't lose a start for being wifi 5, because I knew that before buying it. If I was putting it in my house it wouldn't work for me, but for the price, range, and capabilities, 5 stars all day long. I also can't see why you'd need the external omni antenna...I believe that actually drops the gain, and out of the box this thing has a gain of 5db for 2.4GHz and 6 for 5Ghz, which is really impressive (gain is how well the AP listens...which is criitcal when dealing with low powered IOT devices or devices on the edge of connectivity).
