Q: are these comfortable if you have to sit for an hour or two?

The chairs are not the most comfortable chairs to sit in for 2 hours, but are not so bad. With repositioning, definitely doable. If needed to, i would buy them again.

it appears so. But if it is leather, it is very stiff. We like the chairs a lot! They are trendy and durable. W

Q: Are parts available? one of the plastic end caps is broken in my set.

All parts arrived and product in absolutely good condition.

Q: Can these chairs be retrofitted with casters/wheels? Are they able to slide on carpet?

I do not believe casters or wheels would work at all with these chairs. I had difficulty with them on the low pile carpeting in my office, purchased 3 different kinds of slides that did not help, and then one day, just removed the plastic button slides that the chairs came with and...... now they slide. Not super-easily because the chairs are heavy-duty, but definitely workable!
