Much better than a guard with a screw
My angle gridner guard is almost never at the right angle because I have to fish out a tiny allen wrench from my toolbox to correct it, then I have to put it back unless I want to immediately lose said wrench. Having a simple quick release mechanism makes that much easier; now I'm significantly less likely to catch sparks to my clothes/arms as I can properly adjust it quickly.

Does not fit corded DeWalt grinder
This guard fits a generic cordless angle grinder that I have, and works well on it; but I ordered it because the description indicated that it should fit any DeWalt, and it does not.I ordered this to use with a corded DeWalt 4 1/2" angle grinder (DW402). The inner collar on the guard is much to large a diameter to fit and stay on the grinder. Photo shows guard's inner collar closed and fully tightened.
