The INDISPENSABLE tool MISSING from TORMEK machines and others....to Guarantee performance!
If you own a Tormek....or even if you own a "lesser model look-alike", this is THE MUST HAVE jig....greater than all others which pre-date it. Specifically, if you use more than one stone....and, the wearing diameter of the various stones become different. Which, if it is a fragmenting material, i.e. the Tormek Original stone and the Japanese wetstone, this jig will allow you the flexibility to PRECISELY jump from one diameter stone to the other...as you go from a courser grit to a finer grit...and land on EXACTLY the same griding angle. Meaning, you will truly be working the apex edge to a finer and finer finish (on your burr removals), creating the most precise sharpening experience possible with your Tormek or other. Before this jig was invented, I had super trouble going from "stone to stone" and not maintaining that "exact, precise" grinding angle between the two....essentially, I was always sub-griding another micro-bevel angle, and results were not as I wanted. BUT NOW....with this simple little jig, that consistency from "stone to stone" at different diameters is GONE FOREVER. My results have been RAZOR, RAZOR sharp!!! Tomato skin stands NO chance with even the slightest pressure!!! This would also work if going from a 10" diameter diamond stone to an 8" honing strop wheel, or something similar. The jig "does all the math" for you! I cannot believe for all the years the Tormek system has been around, that this simple tool has not been created!!! Much, much more precision accomplished than with their "WM-200" template....which comes with the machine....NO COMPARISON in results! You will LOVE your process so much more with your machine and your knives! It truly makes amazing results simple to accomplish.

It is easier to use than video look.
Easy to use. Works very well. If you have a Tormek probably want one of these for knives.

Great, with caveats
It's Tormek, so you know it will be high-quality and probably overpriced. Sorry, I'm grumpy because I just had to spend $130 for a couple feet of stainless rod and some booger-welds (Tormek calls it the "extended universal support"). But I digress... Overall I quite like it. If you change wheels at all, or have a multiple-Tormek setup, it's going to change your life. Just watch a video to figure out how to use it; it's not immediately obvious, but neither is it difficult. One thing that few of them seem to explain, for some reason: you want to hold the "prongs" on the wheel with one hand, while you turn the adjuster on the universal support with the other. The reason is that the mechanism tends to stick (on mine at least). If you don't hold the prongs down so that it's forced to "track" the support, you won't know where you are while adjusting. The only time it falters is with knives that are quite short (spine-to-edge) or quite tall. With "short" knives (ex: certain pocket and paring knives), the blade just doesn't reach the plastic piece in order to set protrusion, so you can't use it. The majority of small knives I've encountered do work, but some don't. If it's borderline, try clamping a little shallower. Really "tall" knives (cleavers, basically) just don't fit. I don't get enough of those that it represents a real problem, and I just fall back to the WM for those, but it's something to be aware of. Don't forget to take it off before you turn the machine on. I'm sure everyone does it at least once! I've done it a couple times; it's no worse for wear.

an improvement over the origional angle finder
this is much more "knife blade" friendly. makes it easier to align the angle. i guess, i wa looking for something better, still not perfect, but if u r still using the old style (works well for chisels, and orther simple slam blades) it is am improvment...

move over sliced bread

Outils de qualité et très pratique pour ajuster l'angle d'affûtage des couteaux. Utilisé sur affûteuse LEMAN et s'adapte parfaitement. Il est vrai un peu onéreux mais en vaut la peine.
