Turn key to the right to lock, left to unlock, might seem questionable once the key barely turns but it works fine

I was very confused and angry about the lock, like so many people. I wrote an ugly review and was going to return it. No matter what I did, it seemed impossible to lock this thing. As always…my husband tries it once and the damned thing locked. What locks is not the middle part where the key goes in, it’s the entire silver latch. That’s what locks in place. So turn the key in a complete circle, and that seems to lock it. If you’re like me, just keep turning the key over and over in both directions and…eventually…it’ll lock. You’ll try to pull up the silver latch and it won’t open. That means it’s locked. I do the same thing to open it. This is ridiculous, but the box is functional, it’s just ill conceived. A different kind of lock would have been simpler.

Happy to see you material used a lot cheaper than expected and it was a lot smaller than I expected as well. The key is misleading as well as described it was a generic key you could basically open with a bobby pin

Purchased this to use as a box to put my daughters BAHAs in when she takes them off for sleep or whatever reason. Much sturdier and better size than the boxes from dollar tree that kept breaking in her backpack. Very easy to use and it’s a great price. It’s about the size of dollar bills inside which is perfect for what we need it for.

Product came with broken lock, key is absolutely useless. Not recomended!
