Having a new jigsaw after my old “dying” DeWalt, used and abused all these years was like magic. It’s powerful and easy to work, I like the size and the balance in the design. Definitely will be used a lot.

This jigsaw is AWESOME! Cuts through hard wood like butter. Only con is that it is quite heavy but I think that is why is works so well. Unless you are using it vertically, I don't think it would be an issue.

I’ve had a hand jigsaw for years never realizing it was not a good saw. I also own a Hegner scroll saw which is a great saw but fixed and not exactly good for large parts. This thing is nice and in between. I’m not doing fine woodworking with it but what was important to me, well, this fits the bill — Control. I can make notches, tidy stair stringers, and cut ends. Much better than winging it with the saws all. Happy for my needs. O

This scroll saw replaced my 30 year old Craftsman. Although my old saw still worked, I never really liked it. When I bought this, it was like night and day. An excellent saw with an excellent cut. Should have bought one of these years ago. Great product. Buy one you won't be sorry.

The package arrived on-time with all OEM seals intact. There is no question that this is a brand new item This saw is built like tank. Very solid body and the base. The blade once inserted, is solidly attached to the shank. Test cuts on 1" thick particle board with the supplied blade show sufficient control and precision. Compared to my older Jig Saw, this one is heavy. Jig Saw is a specialty tool that may be the last on the list of cutting implements after table saw, circular saw, band saw. Possibly sharing the spot with oscillating saw. The main advantage of this tool is the portability and convenience of using it for a variety of cuts, straight or curved, where a hand saw might be required otherwise. The weight however makes it less attractive. I can use the circular saw for a lot of cuts but I prefer a lighter tool when I need to make a quick cut with minimum preparation. Some of lighter circular saws may be close to the weight of this jig saw, but circular saw will be much faster for many cuts, like studs or plywood panels. I am very happy with the precision and quality of the build of this saw. I cannot comment on the durability yet but, from my experience with other Bosch tools, I am sure it will be outstanding as well as it is very solid for its every part. It is a bit heavy to my liking. The weight described on the Amazon likely accurate. I have weighted it without cable at 6 lb. Weight number does not make it real until you have the tool in your hand.

I had a 1960's era jigsaw that I inherited from my father, and it finally decided to quit. I figured if my next tool lasts even half this long, it's something I'm going to have a really long time, so picking a high-quality product I can live with over the long haul seemed sensible, and I turned to Bosch. I have several Bosch tools, and all are first-rate - this jigsaw is no different. The construction of this unit is pretty awesome. It's a bit larger close up than it looks in the picture, but at about 10 pounds, it's just the right size to handle well. I like that there are very few sharp edges on the tool, and everything just fits my smallish hands nicely. I also like that the tool-free blade design lets you get the right blade for the job with minimal fuss. The strong and solid footplate keeps the tool where you want it and is easy to adjust if you need to make bevel cuts. The jigsaw is variable speed, and there are various blade orbital settings to give you great control over the cut. The dial at the back of the jigsaw lets you set the upper limit speed, and then as you press the trigger, it goes from zero to whatever limit speed you've set. The motor is both powerful and low in vibration, and this is a big help in cutting through even thick and dense hardwoods. With the right blade, I find that the jigsaw just motors right through whatever I need to cut while leaving a nice smooth finish. I have the Bosch add-on circle cutting attachment...in my opinion, it should be included with the jigsaw. It works well and with the power of this jigsaw, it's pretty easy to cut nice smooth circles in most woods. Only two small complaints. One is that while there's a "chip blower" built into the tool, it's not possible to connect it to a dust extraction system without buying a few extra parts from Bosch...in my view, these should have been included with the saw. Issue number two is that I sometimes wish the jigsaw came with some sort of headlight so that I could see the exact spot where the blade is contacting the work. The Festool folks have something like this - but of course, their tools are way more expensive. Overall, this is an excellent tool that's capable of fine results and seems to be build well enough to stand up to demanding use for a very long time. It's probably a little more expensive than some of the alternatives, but it's definitely a case that you get what you pay for. Can't say enough good things about this jigsaw - if you need one, this Bosch should be on your short list to check out.

Best jigsaw around. We use ours at a commercial door company cutting steel all day. No jigsaw is going to last forever but these are tough and easy to use. The only thing I don't like for my application is the plastic foot. I make a steel one for all of ours and remove some material around the blade on the foot for visibility but not a hard modification.

Es potente más no rápida, se siente mucho la fuerza. Dejen les platico que corte una placa de acero de 5mm sin problema alguno tampoco se sobrecalento o algo así, claro está que con la sierra correspondiente para metal!!! Se las recomiendo ampliamente.

This is, simply put, the best jigsaw I have ever used. Power to spare, easy to use and cuts very accurately (assuming you have used one before and you know what you are doing). I have used several different jigsaws, and this is by far the best. It cut like butter through kiln-dried white oak, hard maple, and black walnut. Didn't even hesitate. The price point is a little high compared to other saws, but it is worth every penny. Never, ever cheap out on tools. Get what is going to work best, and save yourself the hassle of having to do things more than once. A carpenter has to be able to rely on their tools as much as their skill, and you can definitely rely on the Bosch JS470E.

Es un excelente herramienta, llegó antes de lo programado y sobre todo la compré después de comparar en otros lugares en un precio muchísimo más bajo que en otros canales de venta. Estoy muy satisfecho con la compra y la recomiendo ampliamente.
