I've been waiting to give a review. I wanted to give the device lots of time to charge before i reviewed it. I installed this on the backyard of my newly purchased home. The first day i let the device get over 8 hours of sunlight to make sure it had plenty of juice when i put it up. Well installation was a breeze but unfortunately, the motion sensor only detects if something is smack dab in the center it's vision field and close to it. I have 2 other solar panel lights with sensors on the front of my house and they can detect motion from the sidewalk and the street ( over 30 ft away ). This barely detects 10 feet away. I had some friends over and we stood in the middle of my backyard right in the field of vision and this turned on once. I was able to "sneak" across my entire backyard and it didn't turn on until i was directly under it. I'm really disappointed-- everything else seemed great about this and it's plenty bright but the sensor just doesn't work well at all. I can't recommend it. I give it 2 stars because it turned on... just barely. I'm not sure what the difference was. To be honest the manufacturer contacted me shortly after the review to offer to correct the mistake or provide a refund. I'm not sure if maybe the device had a smudge or dirt on the sensor and maybe some rain cleared it up. Or maybe the battery was just very low and needed extra time. But the sensor now works much better. The moment i step on to my back porch it turns on and that's about a 15 - 20ft distance from where the light is. Now it's working just as i had hoped.

Ordered 2. One worked perfectly, the other didn't work. Contacted the seller and they were very prompt and helpful. Sending me a new light right away. We're very happy with the customer service. Well done! The working light we have is nice and bright. Simple install. We use to help light the backyard for evening dog breaks outside. In Pacific NW, we don't get much sun to charge solar things, but given this is motion sensor, it lasts us through the night. Don't recall a night where it didn't have a charge or didn't light at its fullest.

UPDATE 7/6/20: The sensor is working now. I'm upping the rating to 4 stars. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Initially, for the first two days after installation, the motion detector didn't work at all. I considered it defective. So I gave this product a one-star rating. And I contacted the seller to get a replacement. The seller did contact me and offered to send a replacement. Then, starting on the third day after installation, the motion detector started to work...but very inconsistently. When the light comes on, it is quite bright and works well for security purposes. But it does not always come on when there is motion within its field. At least half the time, the motion detector FAILS TO DETECT MOTION. For now, I've decided to keep the light. My rating: 2 stars. The light is stylish; it's a beautiful piece of industrial engineering. But, sadly, mine does not work well for intended purpose.

Ordered another light for our backyard because we liked the first one we purchased so much. Bright and can set the motion sensor for preference. Lasts for years too. Will buy another for our side yard where boat is stored.

This solar light is bright and functions flawless.

The concept of having the panels located just above the light is a good idea. However, for my mounting situation, there were not enough adjustments to swivel the panel in one direction and the light in a different. I ended up mounting it with the priority being for the panel to best face the sun. That meant that I had to mount it on the front fascia of the roof, leaving it susceptible to snow/water sliding down onto it. It's only been up three weeks or so, and so far it is holding up. Time will tell if this will work. Also, the twist ring for tightening the tilt of the light, did not tighten up enough to hold it firm so I ended up reversing the base ring, leaving no adjustment allowance for tilt, but holding more firmly this way. All in all it seems a good product but lacks solid engineering on the construction. The light worked as advertised, using the first setting for a full time glow at night and a bright light when motion detection occurred.

There are some shadowy places around the house and these help add some light. I have them set to glow, rather than shine, throughout the night so there's a good idea of what's ahead of you before you even get there. Perfect for around the trashcans, where nighttime critters may be lurking and surprise me. The light comes on easily and quickly with motion detection, which seems to pick up things as small as foxes. It's not quite bunny season here yet so unsure if we'll be getting more of them being tripped. Super easy install with just a few screws. Solar power means I didn't have to mess with any wires and still have light even with the power goes out. Depending on the shape/angle of the house and roof, there can be a little puzzle-solving when it comes to making sure the solar panel gets enough light during the day. Overall, very happy with the purchases

I ordered TWO of these (over the cheaper 800 Lumen, similar model, solar lights), and set one up outside near the back of my yard. I have another 110-volt, 1400 Lumen light nearer my back door. When I go out at night to walk my dogs, and I walk to motion-activated this solar light, I can easily compare products. There is absolutely NO WAY this alleged 1400 Lumen solar bulb compares to the light of my 110 Volt LED light with the same Lumens. This solar light is almost half as dim (when motion activated to the HIGHEST Light setting). I plan to remove this solar bulb and replace it. (I'm beyond the Amazon return date, so I guess I will have to give these TWO solar bulbs away). I do NOT recommend you purchase these, especially if you are buying them hoping they will emit 1500 Lumens on Bright. Update - It has not been 30 days since I installed my first Solar LED Light, and yesterday I noticed that the light had stopped working altogether (and yes the sun was out and the solar panel is sitting on top of my garage roof and has access to FULL SUN). I attempted to get the light working, but nothing I tried worked. What a horrible product! I HIGHLY suggest that anyone looking for a Bright, outdoor, solar LED light to buy another product.
