Quality replacement tap for my Klein 627-20
I have owned a Klein 627-20 multi-tap tool since about 1984, but broke the tip off the tap for 10-24 threads early on ("user error" on my part - not an issue with the tool itself). To clarify, this is the tap with 10-24, 12-24, and 1/4-20 threads on it, and comes in a Klein Tools baggie. I have used Klein tools for over 40 years now, and this replacement tap has that same "great quality feel".

One replacement only
In "About this item", it says "Sold in quantity of 2". But I only received one tap set. I went back to the product page and found in "Technical Details", it says "Item Package Quantity 1". Kind of disappointing. The tap set itself is ok.

Great
You can't really go wrong with Klein.This tap has the most common household sizes, which makes it easy for working on electrical boxes and home appliances. It's not too uncommon for the threads to get worn out on outlet boxes, so tapping them 1 size larger is a simple and lasting fix. Love this tool because it steps up the thread size perfectly.I had to buy this replacement blade because my old broke off while I was tapping something. OK, I was being an idiot, forcing it into some tool steel... But it was pretty worn, after about 15 years of use.But anyways, it fits my old driver perfect, and I'm sure it will provide plenty of service years if used properly :)

The item performs well. It is sharp and conforms to appropriate dimensions. Must learn to use carefully as the smaller taps can break off if one is not careful.

Universal fit.
I purchased this threading tip to fit my 46 year old Vermont American handle knowing I was taking a gamble as to whether it would fit the handle or not, it fits perfectly. I’m really happy to get the old gadget working again. So no matter what brand you may have if you need to replace the tip this one will more likely fit.

I broke my old tap on a really old Kleins handle, and it still worked! Does what it needs to!
