This thing is rock solid. VERY well made. No question this will pry open locks, doors, gates, etc. as long as you use the right technique.

This is a very useful tool for any first responder.

Great compact true halligan, it’s a nice personal tool, you lose some prying force due to it being smaller but it’s worth it for me due to me being shorter it’s nice to not have a tool dragging on the ground in my belt.

This is a smaller version of the full size Halligan. It appears to be full forged, end to end. It's all business, and it decisively handles every prying task. I moved a 3,000lb concrete block with it. Zero fuss. I think that should help you understand what you're buying with this tool.

Ok, before you purchase this Halligan. Think about what you want out of it. If you shine your boots every morning before you go to work, this tool is not for you. If you like to wear fresh crisp class B uniforms, every day, this tool is not for you. If you dont like to have a lounge area in the bay, this tool is not for you. If you believe in clean cabs, this tool is not for you. If you dont like to go interior, this tool is not for you. If your main goal at the end of the day is to stay clean and look good, this tool is not for you. So who is this tool for? Well...This tool is rough around the edges, by looking at it, you can tell that it has been beat, grinded, and forged by fire (single piece drop forged out of 4140 alloy steel) . The tooling marks all over this tool are indicative of the utilitarian mindset for which it was created. This Halligan was made for FIREMEN. But not just any fireman. This tool was made to be used and abused. Pre-Tuned with depth marks and widened forks, this tool is ready to go right out of the box. If you want a tool with a flawless finish, this isnt the one, spend some more money and go buy yourself a Pro-bar (Which also work great). But if you dont care about the finish and want a tool that works and supports American families, this is the tool for you.

Firstly, despite the fact that this tool was developed by and is used by the Fire Service, it is not strictly ‘for Firemen only’ as stated on another’s review. This 4kg piece of forged metal is thoughtfully designed for very specific tasks - forcing doors and a variety of other entry & rescue uses. Despite being a staple tool of any Fire Service, this has also been adopted (and in some cases improved) by Law Enforcement & Special Forces too. Even Adam Savage of ‘Tested’ fame owns one of these, and enthuses how every home should have one, purely for how functional it is in an emergency situation. I would be inclined to agree. There are many instructional videos on YouTube on how to use this tool effectively, and it’s worth watching them. As you can see, this is not a polished or precision finished tool and the surface is fairly rough (there may be other manufacturers out there who produce better finishes) but at this price point you can’t go wrong. The halligan is tuned and dressed with markings already in place for depth points. It is extremely robust and heavy duty, ready for work straight out of the box. Worthwhile getting a wedge to add to the halligan’s functionality (also available on Amazon) though I did seek out a ‘Mc Peak Wedge’ (not available from Amazon) that is a forged steel wedge considerably more robust than aluminium, with the added bonus of being able to interlock with the halligan itself to create extra leverage. Overall I’d recommend this item to anyone who needs a solid tool that can be used in a variety of entry / rescue scenarios. Also good for Zombie Apocalypse preppers!

La calidad de la barra es increíble, se nota con solo sentir el peso, otro punto clave es su origen de manufactura, ya que es fabricada en E.U. y aunque suene un poco malinchista, da más seguridad de la calidad del material y la herramienta; las medidas de la punta en donde puede colocarse la cuña (que compre por separado) son las adecuadas, el envío fue muy rápido y efectivo, lo mejor fue el precio, vale mucho la pena el comprarla, sobretodo si trabajas en servicios de emergencia u operaciones tacticas.
