This car charger uses your 12V car port to enable you to charge devices via 3 USB ports. It is rated at 4.2A but uses an intelligent IC - which means that the device controls the amount of current going in to each device. As tablets mostly need 2.1A to charge and smartphones mostly use 1A, 4.2A provides enough current for 1 tablet and 2 smartphones (or other small device) to be charged at the same time. This product has been fully tested and certified (CE, RoHS and FCC) to ensure safe and reliable operation.
