BOSCH300 Series Fully Automatic Espresso and Coffee Machine – In-Cup Frother, OneTouch Milk Drinks, 5 Drink Options, Ceramic Grinder, Easy Clean & Descale, in Silver TIU20307

We have this espresso machine for about 6 months now, and we love it. At first, I was hesitant in buying one because you normally need a grinder, a tamping device, frother and the machine itself. With this Bosch machine, it's all built in. It was also $200 dollars off at the time.There isn't much maintenance, but when you have too....- If you use the milk frother, then the frother stick is held on magnetically so it's easy to take off and rinse.- The used coffee grounds are contained internally. The machine will tell you when you need to empty it. Normally around 7-9 cups before it tells you that you have to empty it. This is super easy to do, just open the door and take out the bin.- The drip tray captures a lot of water. The machine will also tell you when you need to empty it. I'm not sure where it's coming from, but it will need to get empty around two rounds of emptying the used coffee ground bin. This is also easy to do. Open the door and pull out the tray. It will contain the used coffee bin in the tray.- Once a week, the main part (tamping and drip section) needs to be taken out, rinsed and dried. This is simple and easy to do. Just rinse under water and let dry. The machine doesn't tell you this, but you should. The coffee ground dust get everywhere inside.- Once in a while, the machine will require a deep cleaning. This requires buying Bosch tablets to descale and sanitize the system. This is probably the hardest thing to do and takes time. One time, my wife made her drink and right after it required me to perform the deep cleaning cycle (so I resorted to old drip and filter way to get my fix). I think it depends on the hardness of your water, which you have to set initially.There is one model where you can put your espresso cups on top and it will warm it up.One thing that we would like to have is a second espresso bean hopper. If you want a different type of bean, like decaffeinated, you will need to either finish what's in the hopper or tilt the whole machine on it's side to take out the other bean first.We were definitely happy with this. We don't miss going to a coffee shop.

Update after 2 months of usage:* Still making great cup of coffee on the spot.* Calc’n Clean process is becoming an easier after couple of times.Update after 3 weeks of usage:* Makes a great cup of espresso, coffee, or cappuccino on demand.* Easy to clean.* Just did a Calc'n Clean process. It's a bit involved, but WORTH the effort for an automatic espresso machine.Initial feedback:==================Was a bit hesitant initially about getting a fully automatic espresso machine, but after a week of using it, multiple times a day, the machine has exceeded my expectation.Pros:- Makes a hot and good cup of coffee/espresso with the integrated grinder. Although the grinder can be a bit noisy, the grinding time is only few seconds.- Ease of use- Self rinse at start-up and prior to auto-shut-down. It does use about a cup of water per rinse, but I'd much rather the machine self-rinse than me doing it. Some review indicated the water needs refill often, not a big deal for me.Con:- No easy way to swap out coffee beans. I'd like to have coffee throughout the day, but not caffeine all the time, so I'd like to have decaf in the afternoon. But, to do so, I would need to take out regular coffee beans prior to put in decaf beans. So, I'm learning to just fill the bean container with enough beans for the morning so that I can easily swap out for decaf beans in the afternoon.Overall, a great machine. Will plan to provide updates after a month of usage.

A good machine, but only if you follow the badly worded, and poorly arranged information on cleaning. You must do the calc and clean procedure, but more importantly, you must not only clean the frother wand after every use, but you must take a glass of water and select the milk option to clean the internal milk circuit, or eventually your frother circuit will get plugged, and the frother will quit working. When you call Bosch, this is the first question you will be asked. Do you follow the milk circuit cleaning procedure. Luckily for me, the suggestion to repeat procedure until it unplugs, eventually worked. There are some liquid solutions you can use as well available online or you can try liquid solutions that you have in the kitchen like white vinegar or filtered lemon juice concentrate.

Very disappointed. I spent a ton of money but this thing is super high maintenance. You have to fill the water tank frequently because when the machine first turns on ( and also when it turns off ) it does a System Rinsing. There is also a ton of water that collects on the "drip trays" inside the unit. You have to open the door, remove and clean the trays about every 3 days. And now for the grand finale!! I have had this machine for 4 months. Yesterday it started showing a "Restart Appliance" message whenever I initiated the start of a coffee or Latte etc. I would pull the power cord. The message disappeared for a few days then would come back. Now it will no longer dispense any coffee at all. It makes a weird squeaking noise and coffee does not come out. The milk frother works fine but no coffee comes out. I did a Calc-n-Clean twice thinking maybe the hose was plugged up somewhere with ground coffee. Nope - this did not fix the issue. The sysem rinsing upon start-up works fine. Water is pushed through. But coffee will not dispense. I will be calling Bosch today but my hopes are not high.
