When you remove it, do it slowly
Great adhesive.. careful taking it off. It will peel paint. My cats love to scratch this material! I've actually used cut up pieces of this to replace ripped carpet on cat trees as well

Not worth it
These do not stick very well and the provided hook deals just pop right out. My cat went to scratch it in the middle of the night and it came right off the couch and she managed to step on the sticky side. You can imagine the chaos that caused. Don't recommend unless you buy an alternative way to keep it secure.

tip to remove clear sheet over adhesive backing
Mercifully, my cat is not a furniture scratcher. She likes the cardboard scratchers. They're fine except for all the residue that gets scratched off and sometimes tracked around the house. So I used these to cover the current cardboard scratchers. They cut easily with regular scissors. Worked well and cost a lot less than replacements. My only complaint is the difficulty in removing the clear tear-off sheet protecting the adhesive on the silver backing. Frustrating! Finally, I rolled a piece of tape and stuck it to the back. This easily lifted the clear layer.

good
Very good I would order these again. My kitten instantly started to use them.

Perfect for wrapping scratching posts
With four cats, the kitty trees in my house tend to wear out quickly, and so far my choices have been to buy replacement posts, spend a lot of time and aggravation re-wrapping the posts with sisal, or just scrap the whole tree and buy another one. Each one of these panels will wrap two 15" posts (possibly three depending on diameter). The material feels good, nice balance of soft and "grabby," and the backing adhesive is strong, but comes off my paneled walls easily and without damage. Besides being great for wrapping scratching posts, the adhesive makes it easy to have a scratching board anywhere - just peel and stick. I haven't tried to peel it off the cardboard scratching posts, but I had no trouble getting it off the paneling.I like that you can cut them. My posts are just a bit longer than the material is wide, so after I wrapped them, I used the leftover material to make a "cuff" at the top and bottom, which gives a nice finished look. All four of my cats are enthusiastic scratchers, and one of them singlepawedly shredded all the sisal off one post after a catnip/silvervine binge, but so far the material of these is holding up well and not showing many signs of wear.

Adhesive does NOT stay
I put this up right before going to bed and everything was good and I had such high hopes. I wake up and every one of the panels has fallen and I did all of that work for nothing! The tacks are the only things that hold it in place. Not great advertising as it’s supposed to be self-adhesive panels. They were hard to use and get the backing off of. They were just a lot of work for literally a few hours worth of protection.
