GREAT Cup! I upgraded the strap
The cup is very nice, it's designed to take impact from the front. If there's side impact or movement from your legs, it flexes a bit. If you see in the picture, that black piece on the front is totally solid, while the light gray on the sides and top flexes a little, but is still firm. This makes for a very comfortable cup that will more than do the job. It's so much better than the completely solid cups they give you in high school. It's still a cup though so it'll never be a joy to wear, but it'll protect the boys in style. The strap is okay, but I found the Under Armour Men's Performance Jockstrap with Cup Pocket to be MUCH more comfortable.

Pretty Comfortable
I don't think any cup is going to really be "comfortable" but this one is pretty close. Like others have said the cup itself is more narrow than I was used to, which made me nervous at first. But once it's on it stays in place really well and the narrowness makes it easier to forget about. I use it for Krav Maga where there are a lot of groin attacks and lots of getting knocked down and back up again. I haven't had this cup move around at all and even though the materials are lighter they are still plenty solid to give you good protection.

Quality Product, Gets the Job Done
I use this cup during Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practice every week, and it's worked out great. It's comfortable, stays in place, fits well, and protects me from errant knees to the groin. While training, I honestly forget that I have this supporter on - which is a great sign, and has definitely not been the case for me in the past.I usually wear a 32 waist, bought the medium size, and was a little surprised at how tight the waistband was. I would definitely say that this product seems to run tight, so if you're on the fence about which size to order definitely keep this in mind.

Good cup, bad jock strap.
The cup is well constructed, provides excellent protection, and is comfortable. The problem is with the jock strap. While the jock strap is much superior to a traditional one, after two months of use, primarily in grappling for roughly 5-7 hours a week, the seam that connects the cup holder to the jock strap started tearing. After one more month (three total), the cup completely tore off from the jock strap. What is frustrating is I can't find any "shock doctor" jock straps for sale individually; they only come with a cup, which means I have to pay full price for cup and strap even though the cup is in great condition. To improve the product, they should double or triple stitch the connecting seam or just sell jock straps separately.

Great Cup
I've used the regular plastic cheap 10 dollars cups for awhile, and in combat sports I've always paid for my frugality. After one too many shots to my walnuts, I decided to spend a little more and give the Ultra Carbon Flex Cup a try. I have always been a fan of shock doctor products, mostly their mouth guards, but this product actually was one of the best I've used. I've taken a few nut shots and you barely feel it. Granted you feel the pressure of the protective edges pushing against your body, but the flex cup really does dissipate the damage away from the twig and berries. The jock strap is rather tight though. It's a perpetual wedgie, but I guess that's the trade off for it being secure. In the end, I would rather deal with a wedgie than the cup shifting and taking a shot to the jewels or worse, having it snipped off or crushed by the edges because it shifted. All in all, a great product for combat sports if you don't mind a minor wedgie. Maybe go with compression shorts if you enjoy that, but I tend to be lazy with laundry so I don't want to have to wash compression shorts every day. It's easier just to slip the jock strap over and then throw it in the wash at the end of the week.

Buy this, not the "Shock Doctor Men's Power Compression Short with Cup Pocket"
This product is well built. Both the jock and the cup are well constructed and durable. I purchased this item after buying the "Shock Doctor Men's Power Compression Short with Cup Pocket." The compression shorts seemed great, but they are unable to hold the cup in place (which is very important, as I need groin protection that will stay in place for my Krav Maga class, which requires kicking, grappling, etc.). After a bad experience with the shorts, I gave this product a try and found that he held the cup in place very well. Anyone looking for groin protection for combat training or sports would be well advised to purchase this product--it will live up to its intended use. If you end up purchasing the shorts--which seem great in theory, but work poorly--you'll be unprotected and sorry. Some here have said that Shock Doctor products aren't true to size. In my experience with two Shock Doctor products, they have both fit true to size. I have a 32" waist, the medium fits me just right, as the package states that it should.

Warning - poor protection
The fabric on my previous XO brand supporter was wearing out after about 10 years of use, so I bought this shock doctor as a replacement since amazon doesn't have XO.I took a good kick yesterday, but not even close to full strength. It was one of the worst shocks my groin has ever had. BioFlex is a bad idea.Apparently my Krav Maga instructors bought a bunch of these to sell a while back and had to return them, because they just don't work. Wish I had known that ahead of time. Now they sell some other type of Shockdoctor cup that doesnt flex.I've laughed at guys in the past that couldn't take a modest kick to the balls from my foot, and told them to find a cup that works. This time I was that guy. Don't let this happen to you, avoid BioFlex.
