Good solid product with a little extra feature
I do a lot of bait fishing (live and dead) in Baja, Mexico as well as here in southern Oregon for a number of different species. I go through a LOT of hooks and one of my most frequently used sizes is #4. Recently I was running low and decided to give these AMHDV #4 hooks a try. They are a decent value at $18/100 count (i.e. .18 per hook). I was also intrigued by the “dragon scale” design, so I did a bit of research. Apparently, the indentations along the shank/throat/curve of the hook help to roll the hook into the corner of the fish's mouth for a better hook-set. I'm not savvy enough to understand the physics behind the design but, for the moment, I'll take their word for it. The actual hook design is just what I was looking for. First and foremost, they are sharp! As you can see in the photo, the hook stuck in my thumbnail with little effort. Next, the point is offset (a personal preference) and the eye is turned up. I like the turned up eye since it allows me to snell the line to the shank of the hook. I do not care for a long shank and these hooks fit the bill on that count as well. Finally, I prefer my bait fishing hooks to be brass or similar since sometimes I cut the line and release the fish with the hook still in their mouth (deeply hooked fish). The hook will corrode out over time and in many cases I would cause much more damage and distress to the fish trying to dig out a deeply seated hook than to just cut the line. Overall, I'm very pleased with these hooks and would order other sizes in the future when needed. Side note: Part of the description lists these as “circle hooks”. In my opinion they are not true circle hooks which might be important if they are being used in a fishery that specifically requires true circle hooks. Check with your local Fish and Game Department if you plan to use them in such a fishery. Overall, five stars for what they are.

Good Quality
I ordered these for my husband who does saltwater fishing. The quality is good. They feels strong. They should hold up to the saltwater. He likes that the eye is closed. He also likes the offset point. He said others may not like that, but he does. The dragon scale design is neat for humans to look at, but the fish will probably not be impressed. The current price for 50 hooks is $13.99. At that price it almost makes them disposable. He is very happy with this item.

Hooks
Very nice and durable fishing hooks. I have had zero trouble with them bending and they seem tough. Sharp and had no issues with hook sets. Hard to beat for the price

Strong, Offset Point Circle Hooks
Good quality circle hooks with an offset point. They are carbon steel hooks so they don’t offer much corrosion protection if you use them in saltwater.Rinsing them off with fresh water will extend their useful life if you do use them in the salt. The hooks are strong and sharp like good hooks should be.I give them two thumbs up.
