AMD Epyc 7532 no vendor lock as advertised and at a great price
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I needed a CPU that could provide the most PCIe lane connectivity with the lowest cost. The Epyc Rome 7532 was listed for ~$220 from Newell Technologies INC on Amazon. I was skeptical, but it seems to work as advertised for me in the asrock rack romed8-2t/bcm motherboard. No vendor locks, no bait and switch (which is what I was worried about for such a cheap price)Compared to other Epyc CPUs (and newer desktop CPUs) this CPU is nothing to write home about, but if you are doing a primarily GPU heavy workload like multi-GPU AI, or anything that really just needs a lot of PCIe lanes, this is an amazing way to save money and meet those needs.
