Amazingly clear water for the last 8 months
This thing was advertised as a way to add less chemicals to your pool. Of course I found this after I stocked up on months worth of pool shock. You throw it in your pump basket or your skimmer basket and let it do it's thing killing algae for up to 6 months. Recommended to clean your filter first as you aren't supposed to clean in after installing for about 2 weeks. Needless to say I'm sitting on a pile of stocked up shock still since I haven't really needed a lick of it. I was so impressed I told my neighbor. He was so impressed he told his children and his friends. So far it seems to last longer in salt water pools but that's only my experience, you may get completely different results. I test my own water and balance everything myself, and I'm still on my first one. I bought a second for when the first does wear out but 8 months later its still going pretty strong keeping the water crystal clear.

FIXED MY CHRONIC ALGAE PROBLEM! Don't wait buy Pool Rx today!
Works better than expected! Waaay better!! I have pool in Florida - no cage. Got a very bad algae growth this year, the worst in 20 years of maintaining my pool, no amount of shock or standard algicide made a dent in it, I was going backwards. Got a tip from pool guy to try a PoolRX blue grenade. I had never heard it. Thank God! In less than 3 days - following all 8 steps - my pool cleared. Water quality the best I have ever had. Seriously, my clarity is equal to a caged pool, and that is tough to do.God Bless Pool RX!

100% purchase this!!!
I don’t often write reviews. However, this one I cannot let go by. We live in central Florida and have to fight to keep our pool clear at different times of the year. Between the rain, the sun and neighbors fertilizing their lawns. It can be a nightmare. I had just purchased this item and had to leave the next day to help with my father‘s estate. We happen to have to be gone 15 days. I was quite concerned we would come home with a pool so Green we wouldn’t be able to see the bottom. Not only is our pool nice and clear but the filter stayed at the same 10 psi as when we left. I will never be without this product. 100% purchase this!!

Best algaecide on the market
Do not ever buy another algaecide product, this is it. I have owned a pool over 30 years and this is the best I have used. I used another product and I was getting small amounts of green algae in the oool.I used this and it is all gone plus my water is crystal clearMake sure you read the instructions and leave the blue cage in your skimmer as it rejuvenates the minerals in your pool to keep your pool clear.

Cleared up Water
Did anyone else get foam on pool with this? It’s been in the pool 2 days, it did clear up the water but now with the foam I’m wondering if I should take it out?

Best product
This is my second year purchasing a pool rx. Ive alwaya had trouble keeping my pool clean and it was always green and I could not get it right. I bought one last year after the 4th time my pool turned green and I couldn't get it back to looking great. Since I started using the pool rx I've had zero issues and spend way less money on 30 different chemicals. I o my have to use liquid chlorine now every so often. Amazing product!

Solved my algae problem for now UPDATE to UPDATE to UPDATE
After 2 years of struggling year long with intractable algae, I drained my pool, pressure washed it and refilled so I could start fresh with Pool Rx. It has been 2-3 weeks of warm weather with solar heat now going and not a sign of algae. Plus, the chlorine stays in the pool forever (before it would disappear in half an hour). When I first installed this product, my pool turned as blue as the photo of the plastic mesh on the unit, but now it is the lovely pool color we all want. I've read you need to keep the chlorine levels below 1.0 to avoid plaster stains, so I'll do that and I've switched to a nonchlorine shock (monopersulfate) to try to keep CYA levels down. I am hoping this is the secret formula to avoid the horrible situation I've strugged with for so long. The cost of Pool Rx for six months is less than what I was spending on algae killer every single month!UPDATE: It has been almost 3 months since I installed PoolRx in my newly filled pool. A couple of weeks ago over-100 degree weather started and I started to get algae. Shocked the pool with monopersulfate, added Clorox and then made sure I had chorine tablets and now the algae is mostly gone, but the water is cloudy, there's light green on the pool walls, and I'm kind of wondering if I need to buy the refill.Along the way I discovered another problem: after about a month the silver ball inside the basket got completely clogged with palm tree seeds and it was nearly impossible to get apart. Once I did that and cleaned it, I wrapped it in a porous polyester fabric and that has helped considerably but it is still clogging.I have emailed this company using its "contact us" email address several times and they never reply, so we'll see what happens this time. I just called their 800# again and, like other times, it rang and rang with no answer, not even a machine. It was about 2:00 pm and I am in the same time zone as they are. Why bother putting contact information if nobody is going to reply? BAD customer relations!I find this really frustrating because I have been the most enthusiastic promoter of this product and just need someone to tell me how to tell if I need to recharge it already and whether I can put the unit in my skimmer basket instead of the pump strainer basket, which should help with the clogging. So, I have downgraded this company and its product from 5 stars to 3.UPDATE: It has been a week since I wrote this last update and got an email telling me, once again, to expect a reply to my question in 2 or 3 days. This company doesn't know how to do business with consumers, so it should only be selling through dealers.UPDATE: it has been 2 mod since they said they would get back to me with an answer, and I haven't heard a word. Meantime I used the refill I had bought for the fall shutdown and my pool is doing OK but I certainly can't spend $80 every 2 months, so I am going back to other copper-based algae control products. Maybe with metal inside the Pool Rx cartridge can still be used to generate ions or whatever it does. I am very disappointed in this product and its company! Downgraded to 1 star from 5 and then 3.

It works!
I've had a vicious cycle with my pool in Florida. Yellow rid, chemicals, vac, clean filter every Wednesday and by the following Monday, the yellow algae starts returning. Since I put this in my filter basket? Problem solved. You still have to brush, vac, and regulate chemicals as needed but the algae is gone. It's been 3 weeks since I started this and I've been pleasantly surprised. I don't expect it to last 6 months...especially in Florida, but so far so good.
