The Tirpitz Model Boat Kit is an R/C compatible boat kit - a boat controlled remotely with radio control equipment. The Tirpitz battleship model represents a long lasting history, which dates back to 1922 when a Master joiner Alois Eggenweiler opens his carpenter shop. Tirpitz was the second battleship of the Bismarck class battleships serving in the World War II. The ship is named after Alfred von Tirpitz, the Grand Admiral who was behind the creation of the Kaiserliche Marine. The ship was launched in 1939 and commissioned in 1941 into the German fleet. Tirpitz firstly served in the Baltic Fleet, then she sailed to Norway to act as a deterrent against the Allied invasion and after several more missions she was eventually broken up between 1948 and 1957.
