Dried vetiver roots is also known as "khus ki jad" in Hindi and I bought this product for use in making authentic Lucknowi (Awadhi) "super masala mix" known as "Lazzat-e-Taam." I found a variation of the recipe from Chef Ranveer Brar. The product came packaged well and authentic product. I smell the "earthy vetiver" that is fragrant. Because I am using this for culinary purposes, when dry-roasting over low flame, the stronger vetiver aromas emanates. I would purchase from Yogi's Gift again. I highly recommend it. If you're going to powder this, my advise it for you slightly dry roast for a few minutes. You will need to grind them in ***small batches*** in your mixi grinder. Then, you will need to filter/sieve through for finer powder texture. Save in airtight container. The rest of the rough/tough fibers can be used in vetiver water to be sprayed around or discarded.

This is just as described and is clean and dried to perfection. Nicely aromatic. Packaged well. Just what I'm looking for to make my own teas and tinctures.

These vetiver roots make a very good tea. Its a bit difficult to work with them cause of the length and tendency to spring instead of breaking. It also takes a while to infuse for maximum flavor
