This is a wonderful disposal....3/4 Horsepower was overkill for my needs but, for the price, you cant beat it. I was shockingly surprised at how quiet this disposal is considering the HP and the 3000 RPMS. Very easy hardwire installation, connected directly to existing pipes without any modifications. Works great...its a Beast! I don't generally get excited about appliances but, am very pleased with this Unit. Had issues trying to order this through my local Home Depot but, their Store Representative referred me to Amazon....can you believe it! I ended up getting it at a better price and receiving it at an earlier delivery date....thanks Home Depot Rep.! Thanks Amazon for the great service as always!

We had an old garbage disposal that made a ton of noise and wasn’t chewing things up enough to avoid clogging the drain. I finally went out and read some reviews and found this GE model on the top of several lists including Consumer Reports. I am very happy I ordered this one. Installation was as easy as I have ever had with a garbage disposal, the noise level is a huge improvement (although it still makes some noise), and it plows through whatever I have put through it. Very happy with this purchase.

This ¾ horsepower GE garbage disposal replaced a 17 year old ⅓ horsepower GE that was getting very tired. I installed it myself but had to make some plumbing and electrical changes, as the original disposal was wired with flexible conduit that was too short for the new larger garbage disposal and the plumbing needed to be modified. A trip to the hardware store for a surface mount electrical outlet box, receptacle, power cord kit, and a longer sink tailpiece solved those issues.This purchase was from Amazon Warehouse for a great price. It was an unused item in perfect condition with all the original accessories. The only thing missing was the installation instruction manual which I found on the GE website (thanks, GE).Highly recommend.

I was actually surprised how easy it was to install this item. The instructions say installation friendly, and that’s very true. I would say though, just make sure to read the instructions, because if you don’t then all of a sudden it’s not installation friendly LOL. The longest part of this entire process was removing the old sink flange, and wiring up the new one. I don’t know why they used a nut instead of a screw. And use needle nose. It’s nearly impossible to get to it without one. Other than that’s it’s great. Has a slightly loud click when you turn it on, but it eats your garbage like a hungry machine. It’s funny, it’s quiet enough, but I was SHOCKED that it got QUIETER when it was chewing up the food. Amazing.I will give a heads up though, when you install the new sink flange it tells you to use the rubber washer in between the sink and the flange. Some sinks that’s ok cause they’re built that way. My 40 year old sink... no. It was raised up so high when water got in there it acted like an elevated sewer drain on a flooded street. Did nothing. I removed the rubber washer and used silicone tape in between the two. Worked well. Just make sure to screw it on tight.

Experience with 3 ISE Badgers (came with homes) is that their galvanized discs rust out after a while. I like the stainless steel (blades AND disc) Waste-Kings for the price but the GEs have a higher spin rate and this cheaper like-new one was pretty much unused. Get one at least 1/2 hp for durability. Had to swap out the ISE sink neck and manipulate the pipe sleeves to prevent leakage but installation overall was relatively easy.The neck is slightly smaller than usual so small adult hands won't fit through the splash guard but you can pull it out if necessary, unlike the ISEs. I cut 1/8 - 1/4" off the splash guard fins because the air bubble underneath restricted water flow, now they create a little vortex. Blades make a loud clack switched on but water and the guard mute that. Overall, a nice alternative to a Waste-King. One note, the splash guard and mounting ring look exactly like Waste-King's.

Quick easy install and works amazing !

I figured: GE, a powerful motor, decent reviews .... I'd be good. Replaced a 4-5-year-old g disposal l got at Costco that was working fine, but because we'd remodeled the kitchen - complete with all new appliances (refrigerator, oven, gas top, dishwasher, microwave etc), l opted to replace disposal as well. installed a month ago. SHOT. LOUD. CLATTERING METALLIC NOISES that sends everyone running.A piece of junk!Already had to pay for installation ... NOW l have to pay to have it removed. Written to GE - and N O T H I N G. Crickets ... and l'm stuck with a useless garbage disposal. (Mind you, an expensive useless piece of junk.).I don't know if l'll ever purchase anything from GE again - and regret getting the new GE refrigerator we purchased, too. Pretty disgusted.Short version: GET ANOTHER BRAND
