Great for rodent proofing, keeps rodents from climbing up the downspouts

Theses weren’t the best item. They were poor in workmanship very off center. I used them for now. But will be changed in the summer. For the money I think a little more care in construction would be needed to make this product much better.

I ordered the 3x4 for my 3x4 gutters and there are huge gaps. It’s not even close to fitting. Kind of defeats the purpose. It’s also cheaply made and will easily bend and break if it is stepped on. The edges are sharp and you can easily cut yourself on them. Not impressed at all with this product.

Sharp edges

This drain downspout extender keeps the little chipmunks and other little critters out of my downspouts. It was a breeze to install and gives the extender on my downspouts a clean finished look. The only thing I ever need to do now is to open the downspout up periodically and remove any leaves or twigs that have gotten into the system. I highly recommend this cover.

This seemed like a great way to prevent the chipmunks from using an open downspout as a route to the rooftop, but the shoddy execution has me questioning whether it is worth the effort to install. The inaccurate sizing leaves gaps which defeat the intended purpose of the product, and the choice of cheap steel and spray paint as material ensures eventual corrosion. Most metal items intended for exposure to water are constructed of stainless steel or aluminum. Mixing metals, such as steel (this item) and aluminum downspouts is known to accelerate corrosion. The spray on 'aluminum' finish has rubbed off in a number of spots, exposing the ungalvanized sheet metal below. Overall, the LFUTARI downspout extension looks like a C+ high school shop class project, and I cannot recommend it
