My parakeet needed to downsize from his last cage because he’s nearly 18, elderly, and the far fall potential was worrying me. He loves this new cage! He has the lavender purple one. The build quality is superior to, or on par with, any similar wire cage I’ve had—besides the last one he had with a solid metal frame. I really like how the hooks wrap around the bars in an alternating way to further support the structure. Make sure the sides are assembled facing the correct way. It took me about 15 minutes to assemble with no tools. It goes together in a very supportive way, despite it bring lightweight (what I needed to carry him to each room with me). Like other users said, support the bottom when holding because only those a few hooks are supporting the base and the top (which should be fine because they are very taut, but you never know). However, a major difference is his last cage has a broad metal frame on wheels (the common big one you see for about $100, white)—and this is all wire. So it’s a bit loud opening the door! Door opening is very easy tho. Removing him and accessing things is a BREEZE. I love that it has 4 doors: two feeder doors, a smaller opening door in front, and a huge door that opens. You could pop the top off with some significant effort, but it’s very simple and fast too, if needed. Please consider the noise factor because we personally weren’t used to it. His last cage wasn’t silent either, but this type of wire cage has some more echoing noise than a solid cage on wheels that has a big metal frame. But we have to pick our battles! Again, we needed the mobility in a home with multiple levels. I got the “Like New” one for $45, and there isn’t a better price on Amazon for the size. It was completely new and unused, unlike the slightly dusty vacuum cleaner I got that was “Like New.” The three perches are a good dimension for his feet. I think he really likes the food containers. They have rounded covers and interesting plastic perches that he’s apprehensive to use, but will be better for his feet. I wish it was 17” deep instead of 14”, but this width is definitely okay. I added millet holding clips, a wooden mirror perch, seed sticks, an extra perch for millet, a short white seed catcher, his plastic girlfriend toy and favorite perch, some auto-sensory toys like a wall net with toys on it and a dried grass toy from Prevue. **If you have cats or hazards, do not use the big door for safety reasons.** We just had a close call and thankfully he is very intelligent and knew not to fly out. Pets and hazards need to be locked out of the room, windows closed, fans off, candles out, if you even consider opening that big door because the cage’s size makes it very easy for them to accidentally fly out. Otherwise, it is very safe!! 10/10 for the price. Thank you, Prevue!! You never disappoint and not sure what the bird community would do without you!

Easy to assemble my parakeet loves it he has lots of room

Great size cage. Well made. Easy to assemble, as 3 sides are already assembled for you! I would have given 5 stars, but this cage really needs a couple more doors for extra food dishes, and to easily add toys. I highly recommend.

The bird store tried to sell a smaller cage for my 4 parakeets to stay in for a two week boarding stay, but I just couldn’t do it. The place wasn’t happy with the larger “footprint” of this cage but they made space for it and my birds were happy with it. I added natural perches instead of using the dowel rods it came with. There was enough space through the central door for me to add small pots of grass for the birds to play in. Once I was able to take them back home, I simply loaded it into the back seat. Am keeping it in storage for the next time. It has not replaced their large rolling cage.

Pretty easy to put together, I have tow parakeets and wanted to get a cage for them with more room , well this was definitely the one it’s not only a nice cage but it’s big it could easily fit 4 parakeets or 3 cacatiels even a Indian ring neck . Comes with decent size food cups to . If you are looking for a cage with room this one is it . My parakeets think they have there own apartment now !

So disappointed in this cage! When we opened the box it came in, the door latch was just lying amongst the other parts??? Anyway, we put it together thinking they would tell us how to attach it correctly, but it was not even shown as a separate part. The other thing about this cage that did concern me is that there is a huge gap at the front on both sides that my little birds could easily get stuck in. Not worth the risk so my husband didn't feel it necessary to try and improvise a solution to the door lock. It is packaged up to go back. I do have to say as well that the wires to this cage are very "bendy" and not strong at all. The cage our two keets are in now is much better constructed so I think we will just stick with that one.

No tools needed, and easy to put together

Really wanted to like this cage however it arrived bent- the roof panel and the wire wall panel . Making it difficult to assemble without bending the pieces back to where they needed to be. Tried to put my bird in it however the gap in the roof made it too easy for him to get stuck in it. The return was not an easy drop off at staples, had to buy a large $10 box to put it in and then trek it over to the UPS store . Definitely not the best return experience I’ve had.
