A fun family game that can also be played solo. It’s like Scrabble on steroids but without a board. Scrabble is calm & slow enough for players to chat while they wait their turn - not Bananagrams. Concentration, focus. & strategy are necessary. Flat surface necessary that is big enough for each player to “build” with letter tiles the same way done on Scrabble board. Imagine that each player has a board that has no double or triple value squares. Play action is somewhat similar to a card game that requires draws at certain times, allows a trade but penalizes by requiring 3 tiles “drawn” every time a letter tile is traded in. There are also rules for all players to follow in response to each player’s trades or draws. The win is accomplished by being 1st player to use all of their tiles & there are no tiles left in the draw pile. It’s not a game for small kids, but an alert, focused 8-yr-old could likely keep with others 8-10, but it’s a better game for age 10+ because it is fast paced.
