I don't know, but the answer saying it's from pork is wrong. Gelatin comes from animal sources, glycerin is from plants if it's natural, and this one is. It says "vegetable glycerin" on the package.

yes, I think they are vegetarian. Someone else listed the main ingredients.....not good for diabetics though.

Q: I don't understand the consistency of these. are you supposed to suck them? or chew them? they are like swedish fish, very soft and chewy, not hard

I use these as a vocalist and full time teacher to soothe and smooth out my horse voice. "A pastille is a type of sweet or medicinal pill made of a thick liquid that has been solidified and is meant to be consumed by light chewing and allowing it to dissolve in the mouth." Hope this helps!
