Just keep in mind that stretching the cord significantly is the potential issue. I use these to avoid double tying shoe laces - I just put a lace loop through the fastener and pull tight against the shoe. Works great.

I love my Comfort hoodies but every time I wash them the strings almost completely come out. I'm so glad I found these cord locks. They're plastic and come in a few different options. I like to use one when I wash my hoodie to keep the strings in place. I use two separate locks when wearing them. The locks are plastic but are very well built and hold up to washing with zero issues.
