Get it and take your time getting devices connected. Be ready to accept the noise
As some other reviewers said. I had to wait 24 hours for it to connect with my devices. I also had to turn off my VPN until connection was establishedIt does make noise!I feel 5 stars is deserved since I got a refurbished device at about half price

Definitely reccomend.
The little NAS that could! It's pretty darn good for the price. I loaded two 10TB drives into it and now have all my media as well as my computer backups stored on it. I love the fact that there are plenty of app's on its AppCentral that allow me to also use it as a VPN host so I can access my data even when I'm on the go! The processing power is a little lacking if I'm trying to watch a movie while the computer is backing up but I can schedule my backups for a time when I'm not watching any videos. Overall a great little NAS for the price.

Good NAS, with possibly too many features
Working reliably for a while now. Only real criticism would be a complete lack of documentation for the more advanced features and software that is already installed.

Easy to set up and use
Easy to set up and use. Set up and mapping to was a piece of cake. I'm only getting 10 Mb/S for some reason. Will have to investigate.

It does what you want it to do!
It is doing everything it should, the set up was not hard. I am using it as a raid back up for pretty much everything.

Not as simple as I hoped
This is a great idea, stop paying subscriptions and take back your privacy. I got this system for me and my family after watching a bunch of videos on all brands and models including this one. The software that they offer at first seems simple but I ran into several issues including times I had to reset the device to recover. I also assumed that resetting the device would make the data unrecoverable but after at least one reset I was still able to access the data. Now that I have it set up it backs up everything. The size and appearance is nice. It's quiet and the price was right for me.

Works great, easy setup, comes with handy software
This NAS was easy to set up. I installed two Seagate 20TB drives. It recognized the drives with no problem, and announced itself on my LAN by plugging it in.It comes with a bunch of apps. If you have your own backup software, you can use it, but if you don't it comes with simple software you can install on a PC. It also comes with all kind of apps that reside on the drive and are accessible via brosser, such as cloud sync that lets me back up this NAS to the cloud, like Amazon S3, Azure, Google, etc. You can sync it with dropbox, there is a photo gallery app, music sharing app (across the network, utilities, etc. You can configure different RAID setups, from RAID 0-5.There are a bunch of other apps too, but I haven't explored them.Writing this review, I realized that once I had the device set up and working the way I want, I haven't had to give it any attention in the past few months, so really happy with the purchase. It does exactly what I want. I back up all my home PCs to the device, also use the device as a mapped network storage resource, and I back up my backup to the cloud.

Returned Unit - Problem with Transfer Speed
I had no problem installing and configuring the unit, but transfer speed was only 1 MB/sec on my 1GB local network (specifications indicate it should be ~115 MB/sec). I tried a bunch of stuff, including re-initializing the Raid 1 array (consists of 2 Seagate 2TB 7200 RPM drives). Asustor support replied, but with no helpful information. After purchasing the unit and researching the problem in greater detail, I did see a lot of complaints about Asustor transfer speeds. Rather than reordering the same unit, I purchased a Synology NAS (I already had one and it has worked great from day 1).
