Super Fast Readings, easy to read, simple to use.
The media could not be loaded. I have wanted a digital meat probe for ages and this one works perfectly and came ready to go straight out of the pack! It's simple to switch on, very easy to read, (even without glasses on), and gives a lightning fast reading where-ever you put it!Please see my video review for a demonstration of how quick it's reading was on my Sunday roast beef, which was actually cooked to perfection with the invaluable help of this very useful little device! It's 5 Stars all the way from me!For your confidence; this is a Vine Voice review, I am under no obligation as to what I can or cannot write and I only ever leave honest and unbiased reviews whether they be good or bad.

Useful
Everyone needs a meat thermometer. This one is of average quality. The on/off button is a little small for people with chunky fingers!

Neat and Compact and Works Well
The media could not be loaded. I am really pleased with this probe - it is nice and compact as the metal prong folds neatly away and the bright green colour is great as it makes the probe easy to spot in the drawer when you need it. The display is clear and the numbers are nice and big. Although it is a meat probe, it is also really good if you are reheating food and want to make sure the food has been reheated to a safe temperature. Very useful and worthy of 5 stars.

Great kitchen meat probe!
Having cooked steaks a few times, I have tried the old side of the hand method to work out steak consistency, however doing it on large steaks is hard, so I got this thermometer to take the guess work out of it.The unit itself is made mostly of plastic. The outer shells is a lime green colour plastic, all the parts match the same green. The plastic is thick with zero flex to it, I have dropped it already and it bounced without breaking on a concrete floor. The unit comes with a battery already inside. The unit has an easy to read LCD screen, an on/off button, an Celsius/ Fahrenheit switch and the metal skewer. There is also a small magnet on the back of it, perfect for sticking to the side of the BBQ or the Ninja slow cooker.I gave this a test on a very thick tomahawk steak, I was able to probe the meat easily because of the sharp metal tip and it was giving me consistent readings against the other meat thermometer I was using to test. The screen was easy to read and allowed me to be nice an precise with the internal temperature. I brough the steak up at a 125 Fahrenheit and it was perfectly cooked! After this, I just wiped the unit down and it was basically good as new!I can highly recommend this thermometer, its very well priced and works really well! 5/5!

Simple kit, well presented
We like a kitchen gadget in our house. The one we use the most? The Air Fryer. I know, I know, it's the one EVERYONE uses the most. We started with chips, then my husband went through a buffalo chicken thigh phase, and now we do pretty much everything in the dual compartment.Lately, we've been roasting a lot of meats, and it's been very successful. The recipe websites all recommend that we use a meat thermometer when roasting in the air fryer... so here we are.The meat thermometer is chunky and accessible, with a large readout that's clear. It's an easy-to-clean piece, and it feels robust when jabbing the meat.IT does exactly what's needed, for a decent price. And our roast meats taste lovely.

Compact and accurate - battery cover though a bit flimsy and keep away from children
The media could not be loaded. The mini probe thermometer is a compact easy-to-use digital thermometer probe aimed at checking cooked meats and foodstuffs when cooking. The big advantage of this probe is its compact size. When folded it measures under 11.5cm long and 3cm wide, and just under 2cm thick. The stainless steel probe can be unfolded up to 180 degrees and measures 7cm from the plastic base to tip. There are 2 small buttons on the back of the case for power on/off and units (deg C or F). The unit operates from a single LR44 button cell which is supplied. Note the battery cover is a little flimsy and isn't fastened by a screw - it's easy to remove so best keep this away from small children. Likewise the point of the probe is sharp so make sure you fold it away after use.In use the display is nice and large, and measures to 0.1 degree resolution. It updates about every second. The thermometer can measure from -40 degrees C to 250 degrees C (-40 to 482F) and testing it in a pan of boiling water showed it to be extremely accurate. The thermometer switches off automatically after 5 minutes to save battery life. There's no indication as to how long the battery will last, but it should be similar to other LCD thermometers and LR44 button cells are inexpensive. There's a handy hole at one end to hang the thermometer. Probably just as well as the small magnet on the back is too weak to support its weight if stuck to a fridge door for example.Overall a handy compact device that could save your bacon (pardon the pun) and prevent undercooked meat. The colour is nice and bright as well so easy not to misplace!

If you can't stand the heat
This probe was ordered for the purpose of being my travel temperature probe for when I go on self catering holidays. Being smaller than my other probes this ideal to fit in with my traveling knives etc. For a test I put it up against my industry standard Hygiplas probe and an infra red reader, all read within point six of a degree Celsius, so it passed that one with flying colours. Cooking some chicken breasts in the air fryer I always check with a probe, and out they came moist and juicy but perfectly and safely cooked. Switch from degrees C to F via the switch on the back next to the power button and battery cover. The LCD screen is backlit but really in this day and age I would have liked to see an OLED colour screen and it would have been nice if it ran off a readily available AAA battery rather than the tiny button cell. It does the job well though, just remember to wipe the probe after every insertion into whatever you are cooking, food safety and all that.

The quick-read solution we needed!
We had been using a much more complicated digital thermometer that was a bit of a pain to use, so I was very happy to see this simpler looking one. I’d also heard good things about the brand, Oliver’s Kitchen. This thermometer couldn’t be easier to use! It came with a battery inside it already and truly, it’s just a matter of removing the meat from the heat source (you don’t want to melt this guy), switching it on (tiny button on the back), folding out the probe part (which folds flat against the unit!), and inserting for a few seconds until the temperature “settles” on a number for you. It’s as easy as that.My only small gripe is that the battery died within a couple of weeks of receiving the item, so it seems it shipped with an aged battery. But in terms of the thermometer itself, we are very happy with the ease and simplicity compared to before. We are very cautious about ensuring our meats are cooked to the proper temperature and this is an easy way to do quick checks. This thermometer is super easy to store away in the kitchen gadget drawer. With the upcoming grilling season it will definitely get lots more use! Recommend this little thermometer – it’s a good value.

Super
