Good Quality and Light
So far these lights work quite well. They were easy to set up and can be controlled from my phone. They add a lot of light outside in an otherwise dark setting. They have survived rain just fine so they are durable and were more affordable than most other options.

BEST solar lights (3rd time I've purchased!)
This is the 3rd order I've made with these lights. The first was over 2 years ago and those lights are still going as strong as the new ones and durability is awesome. I have updated my original Linkind lights twice with the software updates easily and I love how easy these are to set up. My original intentions were to just use them for Halloween as I was replacing ones from another brand that were 2 years old but only had white light (and they were not as bright as the Linkind). But as these lights offer so many more options, and are smaller than my first ones but much brighter (even with setting the intensity of the lights at a % - not even using full power). I keep them on all night on the front of my house and I have to say, our house may not be the biggest or fanciest in the neighborhood but at night, my house looks prettier than all the dark houses. My house faces West and the garden where I keep them year round in front of my house does not get morning light so only afternoon and evening but that's more than enough to keep them charged up for all night long. I also have placed them aiming upwards into trees on my property and it's so nice to have outdoor lighting without having to pay professionals to wire it all in. But Halloween is where I really get them to use them to the maximum. Want a green light for your witches/zombies/aliens? Easy. Want a red light on your grave digger or vampires? Done. Need a hot pink light to spotlight the 135 lawn flamingos that are invading the grave yard? No? Just me? Well, this works for all of the above and more and the best part is - NO CORDS to have to worry about plugging in or tripping over. Need to adjust your lights to spotlight something else, pick it up and move it. So I keep adding more for Halloween as each year, my yard grows for Halloween. This video is from last Halloween, where aliens landed their UFO in the "graveyard" because trick or treating is not as good as on their planet. I like the app as well. Easy to use to do updates and make changes. I have numbered them on the bottom with a silver sharpie so if I need one to be a different color, it's easy to find in the app and I have renamed them all with #'s. I'm so impressed that I've got the permanent outdoor lights for the eaves of my house by the same company in the shopping cart. I'm thinking to get them before Christmas but I may try to get them up before Halloween!

Looks decent, but constant connection issues and weak sensors make it a miss
Purchase context: I wanted a simple smart lighting setup I could manage from the couch—motion-activated, battery-powered, and controllable from the app without babysitting it. I went in expecting plug‑and‑play. That’s not what I got. Unboxing/first impressions: Packaging was tidy and the hardware looked fine out of the box. Physical setup was straightforward: mount, power on, pair in the app. Build feels okay in the hand—nothing premium, but not flimsy either. Setup and connectivity (the deal‑breaker): App pairing took multiple attempts and only “stuck” when I stood right next to the lights. If I walked more than a room away (one interior wall), commands would lag or fail. Controls frequently timed out unless I was within a few feet. Automations didn’t always sync; I had to re‑open the app to “wake” the connection. Firmware update prompts appeared, but updates stalled mid‑way twice and I had to reset and start over. Motion/ambient sensors (inconsistent at best): Motion detection was erratic—sometimes triggering on nothing, other times ignoring a clear walk‑by straight in front of the sensor. Sensitivity settings didn’t help. “High” gave me false triggers, “Low” missed real ones, and “Medium” felt random. Ambient/light sensor logic didn’t respect my “night only” rule; lights came on during overcast afternoons and then refused to trigger at dusk. Battery life: With motion enabled and brightness at a practical level, I was getting roughly 3–4 hours of actual active use per charge across an evening of on/offs—nowhere near “set and forget.” Standby drain was noticeable. Even with minimal triggers, I still had to recharge far more often than expected. Daily use notes (mixed high/medium/low): High: When the lights did respond, the output was fine for the space—clean, even illumination. Physical install was painless. Medium: The app interface is okay when it’s connected—schedules, scenes, basic toggles—but nothing special. Low: Reliability. Needing to stand near the fixtures to get commands to take defeats the purpose of “smart.” I can flip a manual switch faster. Customer support: Slow replies, mostly scripted steps I’d already tried (reset, re‑pair, move router, 2.4 GHz only, disable VPN). When I asked about sensor quirks and standby drain, the answers were generic and didn’t resolve anything. Who it’s for: Honestly, only if you plan to use these as basic lights without relying on remote/app control or sensors—and you don’t mind frequent recharges. Who should skip: Anyone wanting dependable app control from more than a few feet away If you need motion/ambient sensing that “just works” If you want multi‑day battery life without constant babysitting Tips if you already own them: Keep the control device close; line‑of‑sight helps. Turn off fancy automations and stick to simple on/off to preserve battery. Lower brightness and reduce motion duration—every second counts. If the app prompts a firmware update, plug the lights in (if possible) and keep your phone right next to them to avoid failed updates. Pros: Easy physical install Light output is fine when it works Hardware looks neat and compact Cons: Must be very close to manage reliably; commands time out Motion/ambient sensors are inconsistent and often useless Poor battery life with noticeable standby drain App/firmware headaches; generic, slow customer service Bottom line: The hardware looks fine, but the experience isn’t. Between the short control range, flaky sensors, and frequent charging, these don’t deliver on the “smart” promise. I wanted set‑and‑forget security and convenience; I got constant fiddling.

I own 36 of these lights.....well worth the money
I purchased several different lights before ultimately deciding on this one. The combination of brightness along with the ability to control the lights via my smartphone were what made these my final choice. I now have 36 of them throughout my 2.5 acre property and am more than impressed with this product. While you'll pay just a few dollars more for these, the ability for me to change them via a Bluetooth device was worth it. I spent hours of research and read over 100 reviews on various lights before making my selections, and I can tell you firsthand, that the power and ability of these lights goes under-advertised by the seller. The lights easily hold a charge throughout the entire night, deliver outstanding light, and this has even occurred during days where the sky was overcast and the sun wasn't shining at 100% for the solar panels to absorb. Additionally, the Bluetooth range is phenomenal. I have a 250' driveway, and I can easily control lights near the front of my driveway from inside my house. The app can be a little bit hit-or-miss when you first start using it, however, once you become familiar with it and learn how it works, it's really quite easy. Be aware that 'smart' does not mean WiFi, but rather, your phone/device's Bluetooth. When starting the app, you made need to wait a minute for all of your lights to appear as available. Again, once you understand this, the app is easy to use. Also, I found that controlling all lights at once with the app tended to be hit-or-miss, and I found it easier to simply control one light at a time. Overall, as I mentioned in my opening, I am pleased with my purchase. The curb appeal of my house has been dramatically improved and my trees really pop. The combination of quality and ability to have fun with the lights when decorating for the holidays, made this well worth the money.

Great Solar Lights with Responsive Support – Fun and Functional!
I bought this set of six lights right before Thanksgiving, and after about eight months of use, they've held up well overall. One of the lights stopped working within the first month and became completely unresponsive. I reached out to customer support and was impressed with how quickly they replied. After some back-and-forth testing, they confirmed it was a defective unit. They originally offered to send a replacement, but eventually issued a full refund for that unit. Great service! The remaining five lights have been working perfectly. The solar charging is reliable, and the ability to control the lights via smartphone is incredibly convenient. We especially love changing the light colors to match our mood or seasonal decorations—that's definitely our favorite feature! Highly recommended for anyone looking for smart, colorful, and hassle-free outdoor lighting.

TONS of flexibility and they looks AWESOME
Pretty darn impressed!! These really look GREAT outside! I love how I can adjust the brightness as that some areas need a lower light level than others. The color feature is AWESOME! I can adjust the whiteness for normal use, and like for now, I can use a halloween colored theme in the yard. And I'll update the colors again when we get closer to Xmas! Install and setup was easy with the app. The solar panels and battery work great and avoid having to hardwire anything. No issues with water. Size is about right, but if they had a slightly more compact version I would consider it in the future when I add more.

A decent solar-powered light with an irritating requirement.
In preparation for Halloween of 2023, I bought a 6-pack of "Linkind StarRay Solar Spot Lights". One was a lemon, as it never came on, no matter how long it (supposedly) charged in Florida sunlight. Annoying, but the other five were fine and did exactly what I wanted them to do - slowly cycle thru its programmed color palette at night for my driveway. The lights were almost idiot-proof, as all they had was the one button, and you could select a solid color or a color cycle with that single button. Fast-forward to my purchase of these lights, which are fairly potent upgrades. They even come with flashable firmware, which can be pushed to each individual light via the AiDot Android or iOS mobile app. When you receive these lights, odds are they'll ship with old firmware, which the AiDot app will recognize and ask if you want to push the newest code, which takes about a minute per light. The lights themselves are about as bright as the previous batch. They're definitely not floodlights and the marketing pics are, shall we say, generous in their illumination portrayal. You will need a more than a handful if you want to fully illuminate something like a long driveway for potential trick-or-treaters. These later-model lights now have a motion sensor, which is housed in a prominent bump in the center. This is nice if you don't want the lights to stay on continuously all night, so you can now jump-scare the bejeezus out of a passing squirrel or raccoon (or home invader if you live in a rough neighborhood). I did test the motion sensor capability and it works surprisingly well. The lights communicate with the AiDot app via Bluetooth, so you need to have Bluetooth services turned on before you can program them or push the aforementioned firmware updates. Note that the pairing process is done within the app, NOT in the Bluetooth settings on your phone. In fact, at least on my phone, the lights don't even appear on the list of Bluetooth devices in my phone's settings. This had me VERY confused for awhile and I feared the lights might've been defective, but just in case, I installed the AiDot app to see if it recognized them. And it did! They enumerate in the app as "Solar Landscape Spotlight_#", with said enumeration only taking a few seconds (provided there is enough of a charge). And I must admit that their Bluetooth range is actually pretty impressive. Oh, you might be thinking at this point that I'm burying the lead with my "irritating requirement" opinion, so here it is - IMNSHO, you should not have to rely on a mobile app to control these lights. It's annoying and overly complicates what should be a simple light package install. You can do some basic lighting without the app, but you canNOT do any color cycling without it. With the previous lights, you COULD do a light cycle with a few button presses, but not with these. So, why is relying on such an app a potential turnoff? For three main reasons: 1) AiDot REQUIRES you to provide an email address for the company to send you an activation code before the app can be used, so it's just another data harvester. 2) I have read scattershot complaints that the app is very invasive when it comes to permissions. TBF, I've looked on my phone and only permission I see allowed is nearby devices, so perhaps this has been fixed (using version 1.34.1). Still, it bears monitoring. And 3) At some point, this app will be deprecated, if not outright abandoned, which could render the lights useless. In fact, Linkind apparently had their own app which was "eaten" by AiDot, which isn't very inspiring in this day and age of corporate consolidations. As such, AiDot could, at any point, drop Linkind from its codebase to concentrate on more modern products and to minimize its install footprint. All that said, I will admit that the app is very intuitive and has a variety of color cycle modes that are easily accessible. I still think the whole process is too complicated for its own good, but if you're proficient at using these sort of phone apps, you'll probably find AiDot pleasant to use. Note that I do not have any longevity perspective on these lights, as I just received them. However, the previous batch of Linkind's are still going strong (minus the one dud), so hopefully these will be just as tough and reliable. So, the tl;dr is that they're nice lights requiring an Android or iOS app to fully utilize. If the phone app part of the equation is undesirable, then the previous "dumb" lights are still available as of this review.

Worth it!!!
We absolutely love these lights!! We have 4 outlets outside and only 2 work. We always wanted lights outside for the holidays and we never knew what to do since we had limited outlets. This year, I found these solar lights and I am SO happy that I did!! They give amazing light. I am able to light areas that I wouldn’t be able to if I had to use cords. I love that I can change the colors for holidays. We plan on leaving them out all year even if there isn’t a holiday. I love that I can set a timer as well and I don’t have to go outside to plug and unplug anything. We bought (2) 6 packs. We also have 2 kids that are 2 and 7. The 7 year old is so happy that we can finally light up the front yard!! Customer service for the company that makes the lights………..One of the lights would not hold a charge. It would turn on at night and then a few minutes later, the app showed the battery was dead. I kept moving it for several days thinking maybe it wasn’t getting enough light where it was. I finally reached out to customer service and they were amazing!! They replaced the light for me at no charge. Overall, these lights are definitely worth it!! We are even talking about buying more.
