Sensible soccer rules the world.
Awesome, exactly the same as my old Megadrive version, I almost cried when I heard the music. Amazing. Cannon Fodder and MegaLoMania too.

Sensible Soccer - Saving game data Warning
Sensible soccer is probably one of the best examples of pick up and play games. The controls are simplistic yet the game play is deep. Compared to current and next gen games, Sensible Soccer is very basic but sooooo much fun. The pace is fast and the ability to use "after-touch" to curl the ball is outstanding.I would highly recommend this game except for one thing - saving game data! This is my only gripe in that any game data that is saved will be erased as soon as you turn off the machine. So, you have 2 choices; (1) invest in an awful lot of batteries or (2) buy yourself a 9 volt adaptor. Either way you are going to have to leave the machine running or else play all your matches in one go.This situation is a shame as it lessens the longevity of Sensible Soccer. It is also a feature that should be made aware to potential customers as it may have a bearing on their purchase of Sensible Soccer

Classic game, but not the best version.
'Brilliant!' I thought when first I saw this.Sadly my intitial enthusiasm was dampened somewhat when I spotted the Megadrive controllers and screenshots. For me, Sensible Soccer will always be the single-button joystick, Commodore Amiga classic. The Megadrive version loses much of the original's elegance amid awkward diagonal runs with the d-pad and ill-advised attempts to jazz up the presentation.Fortunately, it's still incredibly good fun, especially with two players, and dangerously addictive - 'just one more game' you'll say. The principles of Sensi are so simple that it can't really be described as a great football game, but more a great game based on the rules of football. In an ideal world this would have been a straight port of the Amiga 'World of Soccer' edition (the management add-on for longevity) with original player names, but clearly Sega's Megadrive licensing lends itself well to this kind of plug'n'play action, so fair's fair.Five-stars for one of the greatest games ever made, but I'm giving it four because I'm not as keen on the Megadrive version.
