Great light. Very easy to mount in the top of a Rubbermaid or other container with some super glue or jb weld plastic fix. Attach to a basic timer, and away you go. To install it in a lid, I drill a hole in the lid using a 1 & 1/2 inch drill bit. Then use a Dremel tool with a sanding attachment to make the hole a little bigger. Use the Dremel to remove a little at a time, until the light-housing fits snugly, then glue/epoxy it in place.

Nothing like a little peace of mind that the thing you are doing is right. I had concerns on my lighting setup prior to buying this light and placing it above my tubs... I read that light does not matter, but the color is noticeably different from the bulb I had used in previous grows. The mushrooms have shown excellent growth/ response to this light. I am using it for 3 tubs and it is plenty bright. Go figure something actually works as advertised.

I'm getting into mycology and this was a godsend everywhere else I've looked. You need one of those fluorescent long bulbs for your grow area. Well I have an entire room and what's cool about this is you can even either plug it into the wall or screw it into an actual light socket without adding more cords or dealing with wires. So I have a small area that I work with my substrate and mushroom growing in this light I put on 12 hours on 12 hours off and all I have to do is screw it out of the socket a little and screw it back in anytime. I need to use it if you're growing. This bulb is what you need.

Mushrooms have a clear response to the light and grow towards it. Great value for price but the bulb is a little small.

It probably said the size some place, but I was surprised when I opened to find a thumb sized bulb. Pretty bright for the size I guess..
